In yet another serious setback for the already-frail and failing cruise ship industry, the United States Congress announced earlier this month that they have started an investigation into the Carnival Corporation & PLC, owner of the Princess-line of cruise ships, which has suffered an incredible amount of coronavirus cases since the outbreak began back in March.
One Dead, One Injured After Marion County Rollover Accident
During the first week of May, two teenagers were traveling within a vehicle along U.S. 301 when they were involved in a car accident. We know from reports issued by the Florida Highway Patrol that it was sometime during the night, close to 10:30, when the two were inside of a pickup truck and traveling down the highway at a speed above the posted limit. It is currently unclear just how the Florida Highway Patrol determined the exact speed of the car, only that it exceeded that allowed by the law.
Woman Dies After Falling From Balcony of Melbourne Condo
Authorities within Brevard County are currently investigating a fatal falling accident that took place at a condominium called the Pineapple House within the city of Melbourne sometime during the day on Sunday, May 10th. Statements at the time of this writing come from the Melbourne Police Department and indicate that the incident was first reported during the afternoon on the Sunday mentioned above.
Child Injured in Osceola County Pickup Truck Accident
A child from Osceola County is in stable condition at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital after being involved in a severe and nearly fatal pickup truck accident on the morning of Monday, May 11th. Reports from the Osceola County Fire Rescue stated that the incident began shortly before 11:45 in the morning, when a pickup truck was traveling down Silver Lake Court within Osceola County.
Fall From Cocoa Beach Hotel Ends in Fatality
Reports began to emerge today regarding an incident involving an Orlando woman in Cocoa Beach who died in an incident that took place at a Cocoa Beach hotel sometime on Sunday, May 10th. What we know at the time of this writing is that the woman, who was not named in the initial report, was either staying at or visiting a Cocoa Beach hotel on the day in question when they walked to the balcony and fell four stories to the ground below.
Single Fatality After Car Rolls and Crashes into Ocala Tree
A collision between a car and a tree in Ocala on the night of Thursday, May 7th, resulted in the death of a 55-year-old man and an investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol into the reasons behind the crash. We know so far that the fatal car crash was first reported at around 11:00 p.m. The call that reached the dispatcher at this time indicated that an incident had occurred along Southwest 62nd Avenue in Ocala. It is not clear how much the caller told the authorities about what had happened, but when the police and other emergency response crews reached the areas they found a single vehicle that had crashed after the driver presumably lost control of the vehicle.
Teen Says Phone Distraction Led to Fatal Flagler County Crash
A severe collision occurring within Flagler County on the morning of Wednesday, May 6th, resulted in at least one fatality, according to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident began sometime before 9:00 in the morning, when numerous vehicles were traveling along Interstate 95. One of these vehicles was a tractor-trailer being driven by a 56-year-old individual. The other was a car being driven by an 18-year-old.
Single Fatality in Brevard County House Fire
A deadly house fire that erupted within Brevard County is still under investigation as authorities attempt to discover what caused the blaze that resulted in a fatality early in May. The reports issued from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office so far indicate that the incident was first reported sometime during the night of Thursday, May 8th. The exact time that emergency calls began reaching dispatchers is not clear and very little about what was reported to emergency response crews made it to the initial statements around the incident.
Massive Fire in Orange County Destroys Auto Repair Shop
A small Orange County business went up in flames early this month, resulting in an investigation by the Orange County Fire Rescue as well as other organizations within the area. According to the preliminary reports, primarily filed by the OCFR, the incident was first brought to the attention of the emergency response crews sometime around 5:00 in the morning. At that time, calls reached the emergency dispatchers for Orange County stating that smoke and flames were clearly visible coming from the Cars and More European Car Service Center, a local business that stands along a stretch of Colonial Drive lying near to Dean Road.
Melbourne Crash Kills Two, Critically Injures Child
A collision between a motorcycle and a van inside of the City of Melbourne resulted in numerous fatalities as well as critical injuries on the evening of Monday, May 4th. The reports from the Melbourne Police Department indicated that the incident began sometime around 7:15 in the evening, while an individual on a motorcycle was traveling down the eastern lanes of the 4600 block of Eau Gallie Boulevard. The motorcyclist had just departed from I-95 using the ramp when they entered Eau Gallie Boulevard’s eastern lanes.
