Woman Dies After Falling From Balcony of Melbourne Condo

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on May 13, 2020

Authorities within Brevard County are currently investigating a fatal falling accident that took place at a condominium called the Pineapple House within the city of Melbourne sometime during the day on Sunday, May 10th. Statements at the time of this writing come from the Melbourne Police Department and indicate that the incident was first reported during the afternoon on the Sunday mentioned above.

Police were contacted just after 4:30 in the afternoon and directed to the condos located at 1437 Pineapple Avenue. The caller stated that an individual, believed to be a woman, had plunged an unknown number of stories off of the seven story Pineapple House, which is located close to the Eau Gallie Causeway. It is not known exactly how long after the woman fell from the building that she was located, but the reports suggested that she was discovered by accident by someone walking through the area.

At the time of this writing, not much further information about the incident was released by the authorities. We do not know the name of the woman, her age, nor whether or not she was a resident at the condominium complex or simply visiting. It is also possible that he was neither a resident nor a visitor and had simply stumbled upon the grounds on accident.

After the 911 call, numerous emergency response crews rushed to the area to tend to the injured individual. Their exact condition at the time they were discovered is not clear, but we do know that the caller who spoke to emergency dispatchers indicated that they didn’t seem to be breathing. This caller also told the authorities that it appeared as though the woman had suffered from a fairly severe injury to their head.

The reports did not indicate what exactly the condition of the woman was when the emergency medical teams reached the area, but we do know that the injuries that they sustained as a result of the accident ultimately proved to be fatal.

An investigation into the death is ongoing, although it does appear as though the authorities are looking into whether or not the fall was intentional.
