Tamarac High-Speed Collision Kills Two Teenagers
The 4th of July is typically a time for backyard barbeques, fireworks, and all-around celebrations for the independence of our country. Sadly, this was not the case for a group of young teenagers who were involved in a deadly high-speed collision within Broward County after their vehicle crashed into a concrete pole this past weekend.
Wrong-way Collision in Lake County Fatally Injures Engaged Couple
On July 2nd, 2020, shortly before the holiday weekend was set to start, a fatal wrong-way auto accident in Lake County claimed the lives of two individuals who were engaged to be married. Preliminary reports from the local authorities indicate that a pickup truck driver was traveling at a high rate of speed on State Road 50 when he hit the couple head-on, causing the deadly crash.
Cocoa Beach Hit-and-Run Boat Collision Injures Teenage Swimmer
Although 4th of July celebrations looked a little different this year due to the coronavirus, and many beaches along Florida’s beautiful coastline were closed this weekend, a handful of them remained open, including a few in Cocoa Beach. Swimmers and boaters flocked to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean to enjoy some socially distanced fun in the sun. Unfortunately, just after the festivities were getting started Friday afternoon, a hit-and-run boating accident involving a teenage swimmer occurred near Alan Shepard Park.
Multiple People Injured in Orange County Three-Car Pileup
On Tuesday, June 30th, a multi-vehicle collision occurred in Orange County in which 5 people were injured, one of them being a child. Preliminary accident reports indicate that the Florida Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at approximately 4:15 p.m., and proceeded immediately to the scene to assess the severity of the situation.
Cyclist Dies in Brevard County Collision
An investigation is underway within Brevard County to discover exactly what happened to cause a car to fatally strike a cyclist on the morning of Friday, June 26th. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol within Brevard County indicated that the accident happened sometime around 8:00 a.m. More information is forthcoming from the FHP, but at the time of this writing there remain many unanswered questions.
Three Die in Fiery Marion County Crash
At least three people suffered fatal injuries after an auto accident within Marion County on Friday, June 26th in the city of Dunnellon. Reports on this particular incident remain scant as the incident is still under investigation, but we do know a few things at the time of this writing thanks to updates provided to us by members of the Florida Highway Patrol who were on hand to respond to the reports of a crash shortly after the accident itself took place. Most of what we currently know comes from these FHP reports.
Jacksonville Driver Dies in Early Morning Semi-Truck Collision
Florida Highway Patrol officers working within Volusia County have recently released additional crash details surrounding a fatal auto accident involving a semi-truck that occurred a little over two weeks ago. On Thursday, June 18th, 2020, troopers responded to emergency calls of a serious big-rig collision along the shoulder of Interstate 95, in which two individuals had been injured, one fatally.
Orlando Pedestrian Suffers Fatal Injuries After Being Struck by a Motorcycle
According to preliminary collision reports from the Florida Highway Patrol operating within Orlando, this fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Monday, June 29th, 2020 after an elderly woman attempted to cross a notoriously busy intersection and walked directly into the path of an oncoming motorcycle.
Orlando Construction Accident Claims the Life of a Virgin Trains Worker
According to the preliminary incident reports from the Orlando Fire Department, two workers were attempting to remove unwanted debris and excess water from the new Virgin Trains construction site on the morning of June 25th, 2020. When suddenly, and without warning, they were rushed away by rising waters into a nearby drainage area. One man was fatally injured, while the other was immediately transported by ambulance for medical treatment.

On Wednesday, June 24th, 2020, the company announced their plans to settle thousands of lawsuits brought forth by victims who alleged that they contracted cancer after using the weedkiller Roundup, which is manufactured by Monsanto – a subsidiary of Bayer. The monumental multi-billion dollar payout is one of the largest settlements in United States history.
