Overturned RV in Maitland Causes Early Morning Traffic Jam

Not much is currently known about an RV accident that took place in Maitland on the morning of Wednesday, September 18th, and resulted in a massive traffic snarl along the western lanes of I-4. What we know about the incident so far comes from a brief report issued by the Florida Highway Patrol as well as a picture taken either by a traffic camera or a helicopter close to the scene.

Early Morning Crash in Volusia County Leaves One Dead

On Wednesday, August 28th, a report was filed by the Florida Highway Patrol regarding a fatal accident that took place early that same morning inside of Volusia County. According to this report, the incident happened around 2:25 in the morning, a time when traffic is light and not many people are around to witness or participate in crashes. At this time, a 20-year-old person was behind the wheel of a 2002 Hyundai Sonata, traveling down the northern lane of Took Farms Road. It is not known if there were other cars in the area when the crash took place. It is not known if there were any witnesses to the crash.

Three Dead, One Seriously Injured in Head-On Crash in Sumter County

A blown tire is believed to be behind an incident which took place within Sumter County on a Friday morning in late August and resulted in a head-on collision with fatalities. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol working within Sumter County stated that the incident took place sometime close to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, the 30th of August.

Head-On Crash in Orange County Results in One Fatality

On the afternoon of Monday, September 9th, a 2016 Dodge was being driven down the western lane of Lake Pickett Road in the eastern area of Orange County. It is believed that the only person within the Dodge at the time of the auto accident was the driver, and as they approached a slower moving vehicle they decided to try and pass. This decision, while normally an acceptable one, was made in a designated “no-passing zone” area. Areas such as this are marked because of the perceived danger connected with attempts to pass other vehicles. The driver of the 2016 Dodge was either not aware of this factor or simply did not care, too interested as they were in passing the car in front of them to wonder about any possible dangers associated with the action.

Multi-Vehicle Crash in Brevard County Leaves Two Dead

Four vehicles were involved in a collision along U.S. 1 inside of Brevard County on Wednesday, September 11th, and the force of the collision resulted in several fatalities. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol regarding this multi-vehicle accident indicated that the incident happened sometime close to 5:30 in the evening, right when the rush hour begins to hit its peak. It was at this time that four drivers reached neared the intersection of U.S. 1 and Silver Oak Boulevard.

Two Dead After Wrong-Way Crash Near Tampa

A pickup truck traveling the wrong way down a Ybor City one-way street caused a fatal crash on Friday, August 23rd, that police from the Tampa Police Department are continuing to investigate. According to the early reports, the incident happened sometime during Friday night, although it is not clear if there were witnesses to the incident who called 9-1-1 immediately after the crash took place or if the emergency responders found out about the crash some lengthier time after the accident itself.

Two Drivers Injured After Bridge Collapse in Quincy

Reports are still coming in, and an investigation is still underway into an auto accident that took place close to the border between Georgia and Florida and resulted in at least two drivers being hospitalized with minor injuries. According to the reports from the Florida Highway Patrol as well as the Decatur County Fire and Rescue, it was sometime close to 5:10 in the morning when drivers traveling along Hutchinson Ferry Road reached a bridge. This bridge is a well-known feature of the Hutchinson Ferry Road and must be crossed over if people are attempting to use this road in order to exit Quincy from the northwest.

Osceola Deputy’s License Temporarily Revoked After Fatal Crash

We’ve been keeping track of an incident that took place last October involving a deputy with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and resulted in the death of a 34-year-old individual after an auto accident. Today, it appears that some movement with that case has been made, although it is not clear if the individual’s who lost a loved one and a family member agree that justice has indeed been served.

One Dead, One Injured in Marion County Rear-End Collision

A two-car crash that happened on Sunday, August 18th, in Marion County resulted in the death of a 79-year-old individual. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the rear-end collision happened close to the Market of Marion Flea Market, sometime during the afternoon. It is believed that only the two cars were involved, and that no one other than the 79-year-old was fatally injured.

Multi-Vehicle Crash in Tampa Leaves One Dead, Unknown Number Injured

According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 2:30 – fortunately before rush hour traffic would have made it so that the highway was even more congested with vehicles.
