Pedestrians Leap to Safety After Van Careens Across Central Florida Beach
It is currently not clear if or how many people were injured in an incident involving an out-of-control car that took place on a beach in Cocoa Beach earlier this month. Reports from the Cocoa Beach Police Department indicated that it was close to 7:00 at night on Friday, January 15th, that a 39-year-old individual was behind the wheel of a Toyota van and driving down the eastern lanes of Minutemen Causeway before suddenly leaving the legal travel area and driving through an area supposedly closed off to traffic.
Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Multiple Cars in Orlando
An investigation remains ongoing into the death of a pedestrian who was struck by at least two different vehicles while attempting to cross an Orlando road. What is currently known about the incident comes from reports filed by the Florida Highway Patrol. These reports indicated that the event took place during the night on Monday, January 11th, sometime around 9:00 p.m.
Winter Haven Student Injured in a Pedestrian Accident While Trying to Board Her Bus
A 16-year-old high school student is on the road to recovery today after she was struck by a car on January 7th, 2021, while attempting to board her school bus. According to preliminary collision reports from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the pedestrian accident happened along the westbound lane of Avenue G NW near 22nd Street in Winter Haven at approximately 6:20 a.m.
Car Fatally Strikes Pedestrian Near Orlando on OBT
An investigation is underway into the death of a pedestrian after they were struck and killed by a vehicle in early December while attempting to cross Orange Blossom Trail. Mount Dora Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run
On the morning of Saturday, December 5th, officers with the Mount Dora Police Department received a call alerting them to the presence of a pedestrian lying in the lanes of Southbound 411, close to Lincoln Avenue. According to the person who made the call, the pedestrian had been struck by a car and appeared severely injured.
SUV Strikes and Kills 86-Year-Old in Seminole County
An elderly pedestrian was walking along Longwood Markham Road in the somewhat early hours of the morning on Monday, November 16th, when they were struck by a car that was passing through the area. The reports we have at this time come courtesy of the Florida Highway Patrol, members of whom were among the first responders to the crash after it was first reported, sometime around 6:35 a.m.
22-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Killed by SUV in Sumter County
A young man from Clermont was reportedly killed after an accident that took place during the second to last week in November within Sumter County. What we currently know comes from members of the Florida Highway Patrol who were on hand after the accident to provide traffic reduction assistance and conduct the initial investigation into the incident. Members of this law enforcement organization in Sumter County issued the preliminary reports on the accident, and these state that it was very early in the morning when the reports began to arrive regarding the individual who had been struck by a vehicle as they were walking near to the roadway.
Car Strikes, Kills Pedestrian on Sidewalk in Seminole County
It was on Sunday, November 22nd, that a 51-year-old woman from the City of Sanford was walking along County Road 46A within Seminole County when a set of incidents occurred that resulted in them being struck and killed by a car. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened early in the evening, close to 5:00 p.m.
Two SUVs Strike and Kill Pedestrian in Brevard County
Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol working out of Brevard County were left searching for the driver of a car after a fatal accident involving a pedestrian quickly turned into a hit-and-run. Reports from the FHP indicated that the incident took place close to 10:00 at night, on Tuesday, October 20th. Shortly before this time, a 39-year-old person from Cocoa was walking along Clearlake Road when they decided to enter the street.
Pedestrian Struck and Killed Near Orlando Country Club
On the night of Monday, October 26th, officers with the Orlando Police Department were called to the intersection of Curry Ford Road and Woodgate Boulevard after an accident involving a car and a pedestrian. Reports from the police were swift in reaching the news, and they led with the information that the incident was, in fact, a hit-and-run crash. These sorts of collisions are distressingly common within Central Florida, but their occurrence never ceases to sadden and cause alarm.
