After nearly a month of exhaustive investigative work, authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol have finally been able to identify the make and model of the vehicle they believe was involved in a deadly hit-and-run collision on June 3 that claimed the life of a bicyclist from Cocoa.
According to the responding troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol working within Brevard County, a 32-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries early Saturday morning after her disabled vehicle was struck by an oncoming motorist along Interstate 95 near Viera.
Early incident reports from local law enforcement agencies operating within Brevard County indicate that a 32-year-old man from Melbourne has been apprehended and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death for his alleged involvement in a deadly hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a bicyclist on State Road A1A this past Tuesday morning.
A Kia carrying three people was involved in a fatal auto accident with a van on Monday, February 1st, within Brevard County. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that the incident took place during the mid-morning, sometime around 9:00, and that it involved vehicles that were traveling along the northbound lanes of Interstate 95, close to mile marker 117 and to where Palm Bay Road intersects with the major interstate. While the fatal incident remains under investigation, at the time of this writing we do have numerous reports from first responders to paint a fairly comprehensive picture of the events that led to the accident in question.
Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol working out of Brevard County were left searching for the driver of a car after a fatal accident involving a pedestrian quickly turned into a hit-and-run. Reports from the FHP indicated that the incident took place close to 10:00 at night, on Tuesday, October 20th. Shortly before this time, a 39-year-old person from Cocoa was walking along Clearlake Road when they decided to enter the street.
