Osceola Deputy’s License Temporarily Revoked After Fatal Crash
We’ve been keeping track of an incident that took place last October involving a deputy with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and resulted in the death of a 34-year-old individual after an auto accident. Today, it appears that some movement with that case has been made, although it is not clear if the individual’s who lost a loved one and a family member agree that justice has indeed been served.
Citrus County Sheriff Strikes and Kills Pedestrian in Hernando County
Reports are still emerging regarding an incident that took place in Citrus County on the night of Wednesday, August 21st, and resulted in the death of a pedestrian. What we know at the time of this writing is that the pedestrian in question was attempting to cross U.S. Highway 19 inside of Hernando County. It was sometime around 9:00 in the evening when the pedestrian was making this attempt. At the same time, the sheriff for Citrus County was on his way back from a board meeting.
Pedestrian Killed in Palm Bay Hit-and-Run
Little is currently known about a hit-and-run accident that took place within Palm Bay on the night of Sunday, August 18th, that left a single pedestrian dead. Officers with the Palm Bay Police Department are currently searching for the person or persons responsible for the incident, although it is not yet believed that anyone has been apprehended or even that there are any suspects who the police are looking to question in relation to the incident.
One Dead, One Injured in Marion County Rear-End Collision
A two-car crash that happened on Sunday, August 18th, in Marion County resulted in the death of a 79-year-old individual. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the rear-end collision happened close to the Market of Marion Flea Market, sometime during the afternoon. It is believed that only the two cars were involved, and that no one other than the 79-year-old was fatally injured.
School Bus Struck by Pickup Truck in Orange County
Members of the Florida Highway Patrol were on hand to respond to reports of an accident that took place in Orange County between a school bus and a pickup truck. According to troopers and news agencies who reached the bus accident early after it took place, the crash happened on the morning of Monday, August 19th, after the driver of the pickup truck failed to notice that the school bus had slowed down in order to navigate a turn.
Crash Between Motorcycle and Car in Daytona Beach Results in Fatality
A person riding a motorcycle down Derbyshire Road in Daytona Beach on the morning of Saturday, August 10th, was involved in a fatal crash after speeding by patrol officers. The Daytona Beach Police officer who saw the motorcyclist was working along Derbyshire Park, close to 9:15 in the morning, and reported back to the station that the motorcycle was traveling at what appeared to be an excessively high rate of speed.
Multi-Vehicle Crash in Tampa Leaves One Dead, Unknown Number Injured
During the afternoon of Monday, August 5th, emergency response crews rushed to I-75 in Tampa in response to reports of an auto accident involving numerous vehicles. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 2:30 – fortunately before rush hour traffic would have made it so that the highway was even more congested with vehicles.
Fatal Orange County Bicycle Accident Leads to Additional Pedestrian Safety Measures
In April, a 10-year-old child was struck and killed by a car while on his way home from school. According to the reports that were released shortly after the fatal bicycle accident, the young boy was on his bike and riding across the street at the intersection of Landstar Boulevard and Wetherbee Road when a driver who was not paying attention to their surroundings struck the child with their car. After colliding with the 10-year-old, the driver sped away from the area.
F-150 Lodged Underneath Tanker in Ocala Crash
During the late morning of Sunday, August 11th, emergency vehicles within Ocala began receiving reports of a crash between two vehicles that had taken place along the 3500 block of West Silver Springs Boulevard. According to initial updates from the Ocala Fire Rescue, the incident took place around 11:30 in the morning and included only two vehicles. One of these vehicles was a Ford F-150, the other was a large fuel tanker.
Overturned Toyota in Orlando Results in Driver’s Hospitalization
Police within Orlando are in the process of investigating an auto accident that took place on the morning of Monday, August 5th, and resulted in the injury and hospitalization of a single individual. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, it was close to 6:30 in the morning when a 27-year-old man from Orlando was behind the wheel of a four-door Toyota, driving down Interstate 4, close to the Fairbanks Avenue. It is believed that the driver of the Toyota was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
