F-150 Lodged Underneath Tanker in Ocala Crash

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on August 12, 2019

During the late morning of Sunday, August 11th, emergency vehicles within Ocala began receiving reports of a crash between two vehicles that had taken place along the 3500 block of West Silver Springs Boulevard. According to initial updates from the Ocala Fire Rescue, the incident took place around 11:30 in the morning and included only two vehicles. One of these vehicles was a Ford F-150, the other was a large fuel tanker.

Early news from the scene suggested that the crash resulted in a fuel leak from the tanker as well as the entrapment of at least one individual. Updates to the story, however, painted a slightly different scene, stating that the tanker was not leaking and that no one was trapped as a result of the crash.

Either way, when the first calls began reaching the Ocala Fire Rescue, numerous crews and medical personnel rushed to the scene in order to begin administering aid to those involved in the incident. When they arrived, they found the Ford F-150 trapped beneath the tanker, although it is not clear if the driver of the pickup truck was still in the vehicle or if they had managed to escape from the car following the crash.

How exactly the collision took place is not known at the time of this writing. What we do know so far is that the pickup truck was completely trapped beneath the much larger tanker. In order to free the truck, a class D wrecking machine was taken to the scene of the crash. Using the wrecker, the tanker was able to be lifted from the mangled Ford.

Paramedics and EMTs tended to the drivers of both vehicles. It is believed that there was no one in either the pickup or the tanker other than the people behind the wheels. It is somewhat remarkable that, although the force of the collision was tremendous, neither of the two people involved exhibited immediate signs of suffering from any injuries. Neither of the two were transported to a hospital after the crash.

It is not known if the incident remains under investigation or if they are any charges pending in the case.
