In what should have been a weekend of family Easter celebrations, quickly took a turn for the worse after a fatal motorcycle accident tragically claimed the lives of both a Volusia County man & his mother this past Saturday afternoon, according to initial reports from the Florida Highway Patrol.
SUV Struck by SunRail Train After Attempting to Speed Across Tracks
A video recently released by the Orlando Police Department shows the dramatic moment when a SunRail train t-boned an SUV that someone was attempting to drive across the tracks on Wednesday, April 10th. The OPD stated that the incident happened close to 4:30 in the afternoon, during the beginning of rush hour traffic in the area. The exact location of the incident was believed to have been at the intersection of Interstate 4 and Colonial Drive.
Two Dead, Two Injured After Ford Rolls Over Toyota in Orange County
A two-car crash located within Orange County resulted in the death of two individuals and the severe injury of at least two others on the night of Thursday, April 11th. According to the early reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 9:30 in the evening, when a 2007 Ford pickup truck was being driven along State Road 50. The driver of this pickup truck, a 25-year-old Apopka resident, was joined in their car by two other individuals. Neither of these two passengers were named or described in the initial reports of the incident.
Orange County Resident Dies after Crashing into S.R. 528 Median
A 57-year-old Orange County resident died earlier this month when the car they were driving collided with a barrier located along the central dividing median of State Road 528. Early reports from the Florida Highway Patrol provided the public with little information regarding the reasons behind the incident, but they did suggest that the fatal car crash was still under investigation and that further reports on the incident in question might be expected.

An already unusual incident turned tragic inside of Hillsborough County this past Thursday, April 4th, after a helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing onto a busy street close to Tampa. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident began close to 2:30 in the afternoon while a helicopter with two individuals was flying over 50th Street in Hillsborough County.
T-Bone Crash Kills One in Orange County
A t-bone crash at an intersection close to Avalon Park resulted in the death of a 23-year-old Orlando resident on Thursday, April 4th. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that the incident took place at the intersection of Avalon Park Boulevard and Perdido Drive and involved two vehicles: a Toyota pickup truck and a Buick SUV.
Abandoned Nursery Consumed by Fire in Orange County
A plant nursery that officials are claiming had lain abandoned for several years erupted into flames late on the night of Thursday, April 4th, prompting a vast and immediate response from crews with the Orange County Fire Rescue. Statements from officials indicate that the abandoned building was located at 4349 Hiawassee Road and that the first reports of what was happening began to reach emergency personnel sometime around 11:45 at night. It is not clear who first reported on the incident or if these individuals gave the emergency response teams any indication as to what happened to cause a fire in the first place.
One Dead, Two Injured in S.R. 50 Crash Near Tampa
A Tampa auto accident that took place on State Road 50, inside of Hernando County on Monday, March 25th, resulted in one fatality. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place close to 12:00 p.m. Shortly before this time, a 75-year-old resident of Venice was driving a Toyota Rav4 down the western lanes of State Road 50. Inside of the car with this individual was a 73-year-old from Venice and a 77-year-old from St. Petersburg. The report indicated that while the two passengers inside of the SUV were wearing their seatbelts, but the driver of the car was not.
Blown Tire Leads to Death Near Tampa
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol in Hillsborough County are officially declaring a blown tire to be behind the death of an individual on Friday, March 29th. According to the trooper’s reports, it was close to 4:30 in the afternoon when a 43-year-old man from Lutz was driving a 1999 Isuzu Trooper down the northern lanes of Interstate 75. The area where the man was driving was located on a stretch of I-75 that is located north of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, within Hillsborough County.
Illegally Operated ATVs Cause Accidents throughout Central Florida
Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department are attempting to formulate a plan to cut down on the number of individuals illegally driving ATVs such as dirt bikes and four-wheelers along highways and other primary roads. According to numerous news stories and police reports, groups of ATVs have recently been caught on camera creating severe road hazards as their drivers weave in and out of traffic, cut off cars, and tear through busy intersections while attempting to pull off “stunts” such as wheelies.
