Two High-School Students Die in Head-On Crash in Volusia County
Police with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office are saying that a fatal collision that happened in Deltona on Thursday, March 28th, was the result of excessive speeds. According to reports from deputies with this government agency, the incident occurred close to 10:45 in the evening and involved several individuals who were students at the Pine Ridge High School.
One Dead, One Injured in Early Morning Orange County Crash
A fatal auto accident that took place within Orange County this past week is still under investigation as the Florida Highway Patrol attempts to uncover just what caused the collision. Reports that have emerged so far indicate that it was close to 5:00 in the morning on Saturday, March 23rd, when three cars were speeding down eastbound State Road 408. It is not clear if these three cars were racing or if their trajectories had nothing at all to do with one another.
Quadplex Fire in Titusville Displaces Residents
Officials with the Red Cross in Titusville are currently assisting individuals who were affected by a large fire that broke out at a quadplex located along the 2100 block of Harrison Street within Titusville. Members of the Titusville Fire Department were some of the numerous emergency personnel to respond to the first reports of the fire, and statements that emerged from this organization indicated that the quadplex is a two-story building that was housing several different families at the time of the fire.
Individual Rescued from Partially Submerged Car in Brevard County
Emergency personnel with the Palm Bay Fire Rescue were on hand to respond to reports of a rollover accident that took place along the on-ramp to Interstate 95 within Brevard County. According to the official statement issued by the Palm Bay Fire Rescue, the reports began to reach the emergency centers sometime around 11:30 in the morning as witnesses to the crash quickly reached out to the authorities after watching a car roll over and crash into a pond.

A recent article published on the popular website Business Insider offered some chilling statistics regarding the rate of pedestrian accidents and deaths throughout the United States. This report, citing a slew of data released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, states that during 2016 alone almost 6,000 pedestrians throughout were struck and killed by cars and trucks. This number, currently the highest on record, comes after years of continual increases in the number of pedestrians killed by drivers.
Three Injured in an 11-Car Pileup in Winter Park
A large, multi-vehicle car accident that occurred within Winter Park early on the morning of Wednesday, March 20th, resulted in three people suffering from injuries and 11 vehicles sustaining damage. According to these reports, the pedestrian, a Seminole resident, was walking across Starkey Road when the incident took place.
Man Dies after Crashing into Retention Pond near Tampa
Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office have indicated that they believe alcohol played a major role in the death of a 24-year-old individual who was discovered inside of their car after it crashed into a retention pond in an accident close to Tampa.
