Florida School Bus Accident Highlights Zoning Issue
A school bus accident early Wednesday morning has many parents questioning whether the bus trip should have even occurred. The school bus was traveling southbound on I-95 shortly before 7 a.m. when it left the pavement and entered the grassy shoulder. It hit several trees before coming to rest. Four children were injured in the accident, one of them seriously. The driver was shaken up, though not injured. It is unknown at this time when the driver veered off the road.
Passenger Perishes in Tampa Motorcycle Accident
An accident in the northern section of Tampa, Florida has claimed the life of a female motorcycle passenger. According to Tampa police, a 2004 Lexus was attempting to make a left hand turn when it was struck by a Toyota Corolla. A Kawasaki motorcycle that had been following the Corolla slamming into the vehicle directly after it struck the Lexus. The motorcycle was driven by a male, with a female passenger also aboard. The female passenger was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. It is reported that the male and female aboard the motorcycle were husband and wife.
Employees of Boca Raton Real Estate Firm Killed in Plane Crash
It has been confirmed that seven employees from Boca Raton real estate firm Pebb Enterprises perished in a fiery plane crash on Tuesday, just outside of Akron, Ohio. The team had been traveling to visit several property sites throughout the Midwest, prior to arriving in Akron just before 3 p.m.
Florida Man Electrocuted Doing Work on Boat Dock for HGTV Dream Home Giveaway
Authorities say a man was electrocuted while working on a boat dock at the site of the 2016 HGTV Dream Home giveaway in central Florida last week. The man has been identified as James Sands, 37, of Melbourne, FL. He fell off the dock and into the Indian River Lagoon after receiving a powerful shock from the electrical equipment he was using to improve the boat dock.
Tampa Father Dies After Being Pinned Under A Truck
In a truly tragic accident on October 24th, 2015, a man out for a walk with his two young children was struck and pinned by an errant vehicle, killing him. Thankfully, the two children survived the incident completely unharmed.
Naples Man in Critical Condition After E-Cigarette Explosion
A Florida man is in critical condition after a terrible explosion took place on Monday, October 27th. The man, Evan Spahlinger, from Naples, Florida, was smoking an e-cigarette when it suddenly exploded in his face, burning his face, neck, hands, and lungs. He was immediately taken to a local hospital, but due to the severity of his condition, was transported to the Burn Center at Kendall Regional Medical Center the same day.
Seville Man Killed in Ocoee Construction Accident
A freak construction accident in Orange County this month claimed the life of a worker while a nearby crane was in operation. While working on the reconstruction and widening of State Road 50 in Ocoee on October 16th, 2015, 25-year-old construction worker Guillermo Solis of Seville, Florida was struck in the head by a falling object and subsequently died. The object, which had dropped a distance of nearly 50 feet after having been suspended by the crane, turned out to be a wooden pile cushion from a pile driver.
One Dead and Another Seriously Injured in Orlando Golf Cart Accident
A man from The Villages has died from injuries sustained when his golf cart crashed with a van on Tuesday, October 20th. It happened at the intersection of Odell Circle and Ambrosia Place in The Villages, just outside of Orlando. The Florida Highway Patrol said Donald T. Browne, 79, was driving his golf cart northbound on Odell Circle south of Ambrosia Place and turned into the path of a van driven by Merle L. Hoops of The Villages. The two vehicles collided and traveled several feet before coming to a complete stop. Browne and his passenger, 77-year-old Dorothy A. Browne, were both transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where Donald Browne died early Wednesday and Dorothy Browne is still in serious condition.
Panama City Beach Motorcycle Collision Injures Passenger And Pedestrian
On the morning of October 24th, officers at the Panama City Beach Police Department responded to a motorcycle-pedestrian traffic accident on South Thomas Drive near Alvin’s Island. When they arrived at the scene, officers located two female victims, an uninjured male, and a 2000 red Yamaha motorcycle.
Runaway Truck Kills Apopka Tree Trimmer
In what could be considered a freak accident, a 27-year-old Apopka man was killed by his own truck in a runaway vehicle accident in Lake County on October 14th, 2015. The man, Donovan Thorney, was working as a tree trimmer when his vehicle rolled backward and ended up pinning him between the back of the truck and a nearby power pole.
