On Wednesday, April 1st, 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an urgent recall to drug manufacturers regarding a complete removal of all over-the-counter and prescription drugs containing ranitidine. Most commonly referred to by its brand name Zantac, this widely popular medication is commonly used to treat heartburn and stomach ulcers.
Orlando Uber Driver Arrested on Fatal DUI Charges
On January 8th, police within Haines City were called to the scene of an accident involving a truck and a car being used by an Uber driver. Now, more than two months later, the investigation into the incident has resulted in the arrest of the driver on charges of vehicular manslaughter as well as a DUI.
House Fire in Jacksonville Leaves One Dead
A house fire that took place within the city of Jacksonville is under investigation by the Florida Fire Marshal as investigators attempt to discover what happened to cause the deadly blaze. Reports from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department indicated that the first suggestions of the fire began to arrive at the emergency dispatcher around 6:30 at night. After receiving the call, numerous firefighters responded and were quickly rushing to the residence where the fire was reportedly taking place.

Three Hospitalized After Head-On Crash in Lehigh Acres
Three individuals suffered severe injuries in a car accident that took place on the morning of Thursday, March 26th, along State Road 82. Responding to the crash were members of the Florida Highway Patrol who also conducted the preliminary investigation into the event. What we know so far from their reports is that the accident involved three vehicles, one of which was an unmarked vehicle belonging to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Fire Truck Involved in Nine-Car Crash in Miami-Dade County
A massive crash within Miami-Dade County brought numerous first responder crews together in order to try and assist those who were injured in the incident. While an investigation remains ongoing, preliminary reports from members of the Opa-Locka Police Department suggested that the accident happened on the night of Thursday, March 26th. It was close to 8:15 p.m. when numerous vehicles were traveling close to the intersection of Northwest 27th Boulevard and Northwest 135th Street. It is not clear if the accident took place at the intersection itself or if it happened somewhere very close by.
Child Seriously Injured in Orange County Crash Close to OBT
Information regarding an accident that happened along State Road 408 in Orange County on the morning of Wednesday, March 25th, remains somewhat murky. At the time of this writing, we have several reports from the Florida Highway Patrol to go off of, but these reports remain somewhat scant as the incident remains under investigation. What we do know comes from various updates and statements made by the Orlando Fire Department, members of which responded to reports of a single-car crash along the off-ramp leading from State Road 408 onto Orange Blossom Trail.
