Child Seriously Injured in Orange County Crash Close to OBT

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on March 28, 2020

Information regarding an accident that happened along State Road 408 in Orange County on the morning of Wednesday, March 25th, remains somewhat murky. At the time of this writing, we have several reports from the Florida Highway Patrol to go off of, but these reports remain somewhat scant as the incident remains under investigation. What we do know comes from various updates and statements made by the Orlando Fire Department, members of which responded to reports of a single-car crash along the off-ramp leading from State Road 408 onto Orange Blossom Trail.

The reports did not describe the car involved or mention how many people were inside of the vehicle at the time of the incident. We do know that at least one of the people within the car was a child, although details about this child’s identity similarly remain unavailable to the general public.

It is not known if the person driving the car was a parent or legal guardian of the child, and it is also not known if the car contained only the two individuals. Most importantly, we currently remain in the dark regarding the circumstances that resulted in the crash in the first place. As only one vehicle was involved, it is extremely possible that the crash was the result of something happening within the cab of the car that caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. This, however, remains only a supposition and any further clues about the nature of the accident, how many people were involved, and whether or not anyone other than the single child suffered from injuries remain absent from the public eye.

Although precise details about the incident remain unclear, the reports did indicate that the accident was severe enough to cause the child to be rushed to the hospital as a trauma alert patient. While this designation does not necessarily mean that the child will not recover from the accident, it does suggest that the injuries suffered by the young person as a result of the crash were extremely serious.

Authorities within Orlando continue to investigate the accident. No charges are currently pending.
