Injured Passenger Seeks Damages for Orlando Car Crash
In a personal injury case currently pending with the Orange County Circuit Court, the plaintiff is seeking damages for injuries that he sustained during an Orlando auto accident that happened earlier this year. The plaintiff was a passenger in vehicle that was hit by a car driven by the defendant.
Volusia County Airplane Accident Injures Two Elderly Men
Two Florida men suffered minor injuries over the weekend after the airplane they were travelling in experienced an unexpected engine problem, causing the pilot to make an emergency landing in a nearby field in DeLeon Springs this past Sunday afternoon.
Ammunition Fire Consumes Residence in Seminole County
Either on or shortly before Saturday, September 15th, members of the Seminole County Fire Department rushed to respond to reports of a house fire in a somewhat remote area of Mims, within Seminole County. The official statement from Lt. Andy Gay, a member of the Seminole County Fire Department, suggests that they received reports of the flames in a home located within the 10000 block of Epiphyte Road sometime after the blaze itself started. Lt. Gay also indicated that the home was situated in such a place that made accessing it with emergency vehicles somewhat tricky.
Person Found in Burning Car in Orlando
A car fire in the city of Orlando resulted in one person being hospitalized on Friday, September 14th. It was around 4:40 in the afternoon when the first reports of a car fire began to reach the emergency response crews working within this part of Orange County. Fittingly, the Orlando Fire Department was first to reach the scene, and it is believed that this crew began to battle the flames shortly after the call reached them regarding the emergency. It is not, however, known just how long after the fire started that the emergency services were first contacted.
Seven-Year-Old Hospitalized After Orange County Bicycle Accident
A child was badly injured on Tuesday, September 11th, within Orange County after being hit by a car. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol that emerged shortly after the incident itself took place suggested that the 7-year-old individual was riding along North Avalon Park Boulevard when the bicycle accident occurred.
Driver Dies after Colliding with Tractor-Trailer in Orange County
Police with the Florida Highway Patrol are in the process of investigating an incident which took place on Wednesday, September 12th, and that resulted in the death of a 40-year-old individual from Daytona Beach. The early reports from the FHP indicated that the crash happened shortly before noon and that it involved a car and a tractor-trailer, both of which were traveling along Sand Lake Road in the Orange County city of Orlando.
Six-Year-Old Dies in ATV Crash in Lakeland
Early in September, a 6-year-old child and an 8-year-old child were spending time together in the Polk County city of Lakeland. According to a report from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the two children were riding around on an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) along a track covered in dirt somewhere within the city limits. It is not clear if the children were in the woods or if the track was somewhere within sight of homes. It is also not clear if either of the children’s parents were at the scene to monitor what the children were doing and ensure that they were not engaged in anything too dangerous.
Two Construction Workers Die after Scaffolding Collapse near Disney World
On Wednesday, August 29th, numerous workers were engaged in constructing a large hotel close to Disney World in Lake Buena Vista. The hotel will belong to the JW Marriott Chain when completed, but at the moment it is in the process of being built. Upon its completion sometime in 2019, it is believed that the building will stand at 8 stories tall. The building is located at 14900 Chelonia Parkway, close to Orange County’s Bonnet Creek Resort. This location is also very close to the area that begins the massive plot of land owned and operated by the Disney company.
Diver Drowns off Coast of Fort Lauderdale
Reports emerged at the beginning of September regarding a person who drowned off the coast of Fort Lauderdale after becoming separated from the tour boat with which she was diving. While much of the information regarding the incident is still under investigation, we do know that the accident involved a 21-year-old woman and that she was diving with a company called Sea Experience Inc.
Walt Disney Employee Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances
Walt Disney World is once again at the center of a murky incident that resulted in the death of one of their employees. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, an emergency call was placed somewhere around 9:15 in the morning that directed them to 1153 Century Drive, close to Pop Century Resort. The reports did not indicate what the caller told the dispatcher, and it is not clear just what the responding officers and medical teams believed they were responding to.
