Bus Rear-Ends Car, Kills Driver and Leaves Several Injured in Florida

A woman from South Carolina was killed in a weekend car crash while traveling in Florida. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the 81 year old woman died at the scene after her car crashed into a tour bus carrying 38 members of the Hiram (Ohio) college baseball team. Several injured when truck rear-ends bus in Polk County

The Polk County, Florida Sheriff’s Office reported responding to an automobile crash involving a city bus and a truck. Initial reports that the Florida bus accident has left at least seven seriously injured. The accident happened in the Eloise area of Winter Haven along Highway 17. As a result of the accident, Highway 17 was completely blocked from Snively Boulevard to Highway 540.

Car Crashes into Lynx Bus in Orlando

Early on Tuesday morning, a Lynx bus was driving eastward on Colonial Drive in Orlando when it was hit by a car that ran a red light at the intersection of Colonial Drive and Mercy Drive. According to the Orlando Police, the accident took place around 5:35am, when most of the city is still asleep and the roads are just beginning to fill with the early morning commuters. The bus, which was carrying passengers (although neither their destination nor their point of origin was not released in the statement), had a green light at the intersection and was following all traffic laws as it traveled through it. The other car, on the other hand, had a red light.

After Multiple Incidents, Broward County Bus Driver Is Still Behind the Wheel

A Sun Sentinel review of county records recently revealed that Broward County Transit Driver Charles Raymond Smith has had 16 accidents, received 25 written warning slips, and served 30 days of unpaid suspension, since he began his job in 1994. Among the accidents that the county said were Smith’s fault include rolling his bus into a truck carrying metal pipes that burst the bus’s windshield, rear-ending a car at a green light where four passengers were hospitalized, and his most recent accident where he rear-ended a Chrysler while changing lanes that resulted in the driver being injured in June, 2014. The injured woman sued and her case was the one commissioners recently settled for $75,000.

Florida School Bus Accident Highlights Zoning Issue

A school bus accident early Wednesday morning has many parents questioning whether the bus trip should have even occurred. The school bus was traveling southbound on I-95 shortly before 7 a.m. when it left the pavement and entered the grassy shoulder. It hit several trees before coming to rest. Four children were injured in the accident, one of them seriously. The driver was shaken up, though not injured. It is unknown at this time when the driver veered off the road.

Lauderhill School Bus Crash In Parking Lot Injures 9 Students

In an incredibly unfortunate accident in Lauderhill on the afternoon of Monday, October 19th, nine students were injured in an unexpected school bus crash. At the time of the accident, it was unknown how many total students were aboard the bus. According to fire rescue officials who arrived on the scene, the incident, which occurred around 5 p.m. in a parking lot just off of Rock Island Road and Oakland Park Boulevard, was caused by a collision with a car.
