The year came to a tragic close last week as three people were killed and two more were seriously injured on December 30th, 2020, when their vehicle was involved in a high-speed, fatal wrong-way collision with an alleged armed carjacking suspect along Interstate 95 at Beville Road near Daytona Beach in Volusia County.

Bicyclist Killed in SUV Accident with Sheriff’s Deputy in Seminole County
According to preliminary collision reports from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and local law enforcement agencies, a female bicyclist was fatally injured on November 1st, 2020, after a deputy with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office crashed into her while she was taking a momentary break from cycling along Snow Hill Road close to Winding River Lane north of Chuluota.
Two Women Discovered Dead in Lake County House Fire
Police have issued a report on the arrest of a single individual believed to be connected to a deadly fire that took place within Lake County on Tuesday, July 7th. It was sometime shortly before 9:00 in the morning on the day in question when dispatchers connected to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office first received an emergency call from an individual who claimed to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The dispatcher was able to get an address from the badly injured victim and immediately numerous squad cars were on their way to the address of a home located along East Dale Street, close to the city of Leesburg.
Retired Firefighter Dies in Broward County House Fire
In Cooper City, a house fire turned deadly on the afternoon of Saturday, July 11th, after events currently the subject of an investigation resulted in a blaze breaking out at a private residence. What we know so far comes from the Fire Chief with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. This individual told reporters that the incident was first reported at close to 2:00 on the morning of the Saturday in question.
Tree Falls on SUV in Jacksonville, Kills Both Occupants
Authorities within the city of Jacksonville are still working to unearth just what happened to cause a fatal accident that took place within the city limits on Thursday, July 3rd. Regardless of the investigation’s discoveries, the incident in question is already undoubtedly one of the stranger things to have happened to motorists within Florida. While one can anticipate alligators and octogenarians on golf carts, it is less common for a tree itself to suddenly fall into the roadway.
Flesh-Eating Bacteria Kills Employee of Universal Orlando
An investigation is underway into the death of a Universal Orlando employee who was consumed by a flesh-eating bacteria over the course of several weeks towards the end of August. The individual, who is survived by his wife and two children, first noticed a problem during the middle of the month, when he began to experience flu-like symptoms. The initial response of the individual was to call a medical hotline, where they were told that they did indeed have the flu. When the symptoms didn’t subside, the individual went to the emergency room.
Dirt Bike Rider Killed in Orange County Crash with Ford
Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol within Orange County were among the first responders to a fatal accident that occurred between a 2007 Ford four-door and a Kawasaki dirt bike. At the time of this writing, it is not believed that any charges are pending against any of the individuals involved in the accident.
Family Sues Universal Orlando Resort over Death of Family Member
Universal Orlando Resort is currently facing a wrongful death lawsuit filed by individuals from Guatemala that claims the lack of proper signage at the resort directly led to the death of a member of their family. While much of the details pertaining to the incident itself are not clear, we do know that the incident in question happened two years ago.
