2020 Marks Large Decrease in Automobile Accidents in Florida

Although much of the news out of Florida during 2020 was exceedingly grim, the pandemic still raging through our fair state did have one mildly beneficial effect. According to reporting from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, the number of car accidents that took place within Florida during the 2020 year was dramatically reduced from that which occurred during 2019. While not confirmed, it is believed that this is the result of less people traveling to the state for tourist activities.

23-Year-Old Dies After Car Crashes into Orlando Retention Pond

Police in the City of Orlando issued the first reports relating to the death of a woman who was inside of a vehicle after it crashed into a retention pond within Orange County. It was early in September when the incident, which was viewed by many witnesses, took place. Orlando Police Officer Involved in Two-Car Crash

A police officer working for the Orlando Police Department was involved in an auto accident that happened close to Universal Studios within the City of Orlando only a short while after noon on Tuesday, August 31st. According to the official reports that were issued by some of the responding law enforcement parties after the incident, the crash involved the Orlando Police Department officer and one other individual. Shortly before the collision took place, the officer involved heard reports of another emergency come over their radio. People aren’t running as many errands, driving to movies, going to restaurants or the beach. This reduction in the amount of traffic on the roadway has led to a dramatic reduction in the number of accidents involving automobiles that are taking place along Florida’s roadways.

Teenager Dies in Crash Along S.R. 417 in Orange County
