Three Teen Pedestrians Killed in North Miami Crash
A horrifying and tragic event took place in North Miami over this past weekend that has left a community mourning the loss of three teenage children who were killed. The reports from police working within North Miami as well as from the Miami Herald stated that the fatal pedestrian accident remains very much under investigation. What we currently know is very little, and the reports issued so far do not provide many pieces of information other than the barest facts of the case.
Nine Florida Cities on Top 15 List for Deadliest in Country for Pedestrians
A recent article published on the popular website Business Insider offered some chilling statistics regarding the rate of pedestrian accidents and deaths throughout the United States. This report, citing a slew of data released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, states that during 2016 alone almost 6,000 pedestrians throughout were struck and killed by cars and trucks. This number, currently the highest on record, comes after years of continual increases in the number of pedestrians killed by drivers.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office Tries to Curb Pedestrian Accidents
Due to the recent spike in numbers of crashes involving pedestrians within Orange County, deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office have initiated yet another crackdown on violations of crosswalk laws committed by both pedestrians and drivers.
Seminole Pedestrian Struck and Killed
Early reports from deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office offered some information regarding the fatal pedestrian accident that happened early on the morning of Sunday, March 17th, and involved a 41-year-old man. According to these reports, the pedestrian, a Seminole resident, was walking across Starkey Road when the incident took place.
Pedestrian Struck and Killed while Crossing Orlando Street
The Florida Highway Patrol issued a statement recently about an incident which happened on Saturday, February 9th, that resulted in the death of one pedestrian. The Florida Highway Patrol’s report stated that the fatal interaction took place close to 6:30 at night, at the intersection of Goldenrod Road and Lake Underhill Road. This area, not a heavily trafficked one, still receives its fair share of road traffic, which means that pedestrians are encouraged to remain alert as to what is going on in the roadway around them.
Pedestrian Sitting in Travel Lane Killed in Brevard County Crash
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol are working together in order to ascertain the exact reasons behind a crash that killed a pedestrian in Brevard County on Saturday, February 2nd. Early reports state that the incident took place on U.S. 1, close to the intersection of Barefoot Boulevard, and that it happened sometime around 8:40 on Saturday evening.
Pedestrian Killed along Colonial Drive in Orange County
Little is currently known about an incident that took place on Saturday, January 12th, and resulted in the death of a pedestrian within Orange County. At the time of this writing, the Florida Highway Patrol has only said that the incident took place close to the intersection Colonial Drive and Lake Downey Drive. It is not known what time of day the incident took place, although this is likely of high importance given the lower visibility that pedestrians encounter while trying to cross streets at night.
Pedestrian Killed Near Tampa After Being Struck by Three Cars
Three different drivers were involved in a collision with a pedestrian that took place close to Tampa in Hillsborough County early in January. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol stated that the individual who was struck by the vehicles, a man from Seffner, was attempting to cross State Road 574 at close to 6:30 p.m. on January 4th.
Satellite Beach Crash Kills 82-Year-Old Pedestrian
A car crash in Satellite Beach this past Friday, November 2nd, resulted in the death of one individual. According to officers with the Satellite Beach Police Department, the incident took place shortly before 7:30 in the evening. The car involved, which was not described in the initial report, was being driven down State Road A1A by an individual who was not named. At this same time, an 82-year-old resident of Merritt Island was standing at the intersection of State Road A1A and Roosevelt Avenue, planning on crossing the busy intersection to reach the home of a relative.
Two Pedestrians Killed in Ocoee Crash
Police within the Ocoee Police Department are working on an investigation into the deaths of two individuals on Friday, November 2nd. Reports that were released shortly after the fatal pedestrian accident occurred provide us with the most up-to-date information regarding the incident, however it is still an accident that is under investigation and many of the conclusions are not yet known or are being withheld from the general public until such time as the next of kin are notified and/or the authorities believe it prudent to release additional facts.
