A series of accidents caused by a single car traveling the wrong direction down County Road 42 in Lake County has resulted in the death of at least one individual while another remains in critical condition. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that the auto accident happened during the morning of Saturday, May 18th, along a stretch of County Road 42 that lies close to National Forest Service 536.
$2 Billion Awarded to Couple in Monsanto Case
Earlier this month, a jury in the city of Oakland, California, decided against Monsanto and its new German pharmaceutical parent company, Bayer, in a case brought against them by a couple suffering from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The two plaintiffs, both in their 70s, are residents of Livermore, a town that is about 40 miles away from San Francisco.
Cyclist Killed After Being Struck by Pickup in Seminole County
A collision in Seminole County that happened on Wednesday, May 15th, resulted in the death of a cyclist. Six Injured in Multi-Car Crash in Orlando Tourist District
Few details are available regarding a multi-vehicle collision that took place within Orlando’s popular tourist district on Friday, May 10th, and resulted in the injury of numerous individuals, one of whom was a young child. What we know so far is that the incident happened along the 11700 block of International Drive and involved several vehicles, although the precise number involved has yet to be released in an official statement from any of the law enforcement agencies that responded to the crash reports.
Stolen Orange County Patrol Vehicle Involved in Numerous Collisions
Orange County Police Officers are scratching their heads over what exactly happened to allow an individual or individuals to steal a patrol vehicle with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and take it on a joy-ride that resulted in a collision in West Palm Bay on Thursday, May 9th. Reports on the incident are currently incomplete as the deputies working the case are not entirely sure who stole the vehicle. Also not included is the information regarding where the vehicle was stolen from, whether or not the Sheriff’s Department was aware that one of their law enforcement vehicles had been stolen, or just what took place to allow this to happen at all.
Lake County Turnpike Crash Leaves One Dead
Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol working within Lake County have issued a report on a deadly incident that happened shortly before noon on Friday, May 10th, and resulted in the death of one individual. According to these reports, the auto accident happened along the southern lanes of the Florida Turnpike, within the limits of Clermont inside of Lake County. It is believed that only two cars were involved in the crash.
Dozens Injured After Plane Crashes Into St. Johns River in Jacksonville
Making headline news around the country on Saturday, May 4th, was the report about a Boeing 737 that crashed in Jacksonville after skidding off the runway of NAS Jacksonville. The reports from the numerous agencies that responded to the aviation accident indicated that the flight was returning from Cuba’s Guantanamo Bay when it made its landing at NAS Jacksonville. Aboard the plane at the time of the accident were 142 individuals. It is believed that most of these people were civilians who were simply returning from Cuba after a vacation.
Child Nearly Drowns in Orange County Shortly After Pool Safety Meeting
On Wednesday, May 1st, officials with the Orange County Fire Rescue team were working with other first responders throughout Orange County as well as numerous child safety organizations to present a joint news conference on the importance of swim safety awareness. High-Speed Chase Along I-95 Spans Numerous Counties in Central Florida
A 33-year-old from Leesburg led police and Florida Highway Patrol troopers throughout Central Florida on a massive high-speed chase this past Wednesday, May 1st, that ended only when the authorities were able to funnel the fleeing driver across a set of stop sticks, deflating the tires on his car and rendering him immobile.
