In Tampa, a deputy with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was killed on Monday, January 11th, after being involved in a car accident while responding to an emergency situation. According to reports from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department, the 54-year-old deputy had worked for the law enforcement agency for several decades and was planning on retiring the following day, January 12th.
Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office have indicated that they believe alcohol played a major role in the death of a 24-year-old individual who was discovered inside of their car after it crashed into a retention pond in an accident close to Tampa.
A fatal auto accident took place close to Tampa inside of Hillsborough County on Tuesday, January 15th, and officers with the Florida Highway Patrol are currently working to discover just what happened and who, if anyone, is primarily responsible.
