One Dead, One Injured in Early Morning Orange County Crash

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on March 31, 2019

A fatal auto accident that took place within Orange County this past week is still under investigation as the Florida Highway Patrol attempts to uncover just what caused the collision. Reports that have emerged so far indicate that it was close to 5:00 in the morning on Saturday, March 23rd, when three cars were speeding down eastbound State Road 408. It is not clear if these three cars were racing or if their trajectories had nothing at all to do with one another.

As the cars passed underneath a bridge, the driver of one of the cars lost control of the vehicle. Before they were able to regain authority over the car, it struck a cement pillar. The force of this impact caused a 33-year-old to be thrown out of the vehicle and into the roadway. This person landed in the leftmost eastbound lane, still in the path of other vehicles.

Another car – it is not clear if this car was one of the three mentioned above or if it was a different vehicle that was traveling through the same area – neared the scene of the accident. Seeing the person lying in the roadway, the driver of this car attempted to avoid striking them, but they were not able to do so and struck the already badly injured individual. After swerving and striking 33-year-old, the driver of this car lost control of their vehicle and sideswiped another car before coming to a halt.

Emergency response crews were called to the scene shortly after the incident occurred, with paramedics and EMTs included in their ranks. Despite their quick responsiveness, there was nothing they could do for the 33-year-old, and he was declared dead at the scene of the accident. Another individual, a 27-year-old who was a passenger in one of the other cars involved, was also seriously injured. They were placed inside of an ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital. At the time of this writing there are no new updates regarding their condition.

As mentioned above, this accident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. Any new major developments or updates will be reported on here.
