Individual Rescued from Partially Submerged Car in Brevard County

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on March 27, 2019

Emergency personnel with the Palm Bay Fire Rescue were on hand to respond to reports of a rollover accident that took place along the on-ramp to Interstate 95 within Brevard County. According to the official statement issued by the Palm Bay Fire Rescue, the reports began to reach the emergency centers sometime around 11:30 in the morning as witnesses to the crash quickly reached out to the authorities after watching a car roll over and crash into a pond.

What exactly led to this event is not currently clear. We do know that a driver was on their car as they made down Palm Bay Road towards Interstate 95. It is not clear what sort of car this person was driving, and the identity of the individual themselves was not released in the initial reports. It is not known if they were planning on exiting Palm Bay Road and merging onto Interstate 95 or if they were intending to continue driving down Palm Bay Road for an indefinite period of time.

As they reached the interchange between Interstate 95 and Palm Bay Road, something happened to cause them to lose control of the car. It is not known if any other vehicles were involved or if the reason behind the loss of control lies solely in the hands of the person behind the wheel of the car. We do know that as a result of the driver losing control of the car the vehicle began to overturn. It is not clear how many times the car rolled over, but we do know that it ultimately came to a stop lying mostly on its roof inside of a pond. The depth of the pond was not indicated in the report, but it does not appear as though the pond contained much water. If it did, the driver managed to crash their vehicle in a part of the pond that was fortunately shallow.

Although they were trapped in their vehicle, they were above the waterline and able to remain stable while they waited for emergency response crews to reach the area. When the Palm Bay Fire Rescue pulled the individual from the car they were treated for injuries that were not life threatening.
