Separate Auto Accidents On Interstate 4 Fatally Injure Two Drivers
Florida Highway Patrol troopers report that two drivers were fatally injured in separate accidents on Interstate 4 south of Orlando on Feb. 10. Troopers believe that the first accident occurred around 2 a.m. that morning. Around 7 a.m., troopers discovered a mangled car far from the eastbound lane of I-4 among some trees. The car was driven by a 28-year-old man, who was pronounced dead from his injuries at the scene.
The second accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. near the John Young Parkway exit, when a young woman lost control of her car and crossed into the westbound lane, where it struck another vehicle. The collision killed the 20-year-old Orlando woman who lost control and injured the other driver, a 24-year-old Orange County man. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was reported in stable condition and received treatment for undisclosed injuries. This accident snarled I-4 traffic for several hours while accident responders investigated the accident and cleared debris from the roadway.
Central Florida residents know that Interstate 4 is one of our state’s busiest highways and is frequently the site of very serious accidents involving passenger vehicles, motorcycles, tractor-trailers and other vehicles. Due to the high rates of speed on I-4, these accidents often cause serious, even fatal, injuries, and the most seriously injured victims require weeks of medical care, which can result in medical bills totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars. When injured in accidents caused by negligent drivers, victims often have no choice but to speak with a personal injury attorney in order to seek damages to help pay medical expenses and other damages. Failing to do so could result in financial ruin for victims and their families through no fault of their own.
