Stolen Orange County Patrol Vehicle Involved in Numerous Collisions
Orange County Police Officers are scratching their heads over what exactly happened to allow an individual or individuals to steal a patrol vehicle with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and take it on a joy-ride that resulted in a collision in West Palm Bay on Thursday, May 9th. Reports on the incident are currently incomplete as the deputies working the case are not entirely sure who stole the vehicle. Also not included is the information regarding where the vehicle was stolen from, whether or not the Sheriff’s Department was aware that one of their law enforcement vehicles had been stolen, or just what took place to allow this to happen at all.
Lake County Turnpike Crash Leaves One Dead
Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol working within Lake County have issued a report on a deadly incident that happened shortly before noon on Friday, May 10th, and resulted in the death of one individual. According to these reports, the auto accident happened along the southern lanes of the Florida Turnpike, within the limits of Clermont inside of Lake County. It is believed that only two cars were involved in the crash.
High-Speed Chase Along I-95 Spans Numerous Counties in Central Florida
A 33-year-old from Leesburg led police and Florida Highway Patrol troopers throughout Central Florida on a massive high-speed chase this past Wednesday, May 1st, that ended only when the authorities were able to funnel the fleeing driver across a set of stop sticks, deflating the tires on his car and rendering him immobile.
Robbery Leads to High-Speed Chase, Crash, and Two Hospitalizations in Sumter County
An armed robbery and a high speed chase resulted in a crash and multiple arrests within Sumter County on Saturday, April 27th. According to preliminary reports from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, the events leading to the incident were first reported sometime during the early morning of Saturday after a Burger King located along the 3600 block of Wedgewood Lane inside of The Villages was robbed by at least two individuals. It was not until later that afternoon that an officer driving a marked Sheriff’s Office patrol car located the vehicle believed to have been used by the people involved with the robbery.
Teenager Dies in Crash Along S.R. 417 in Orange County
A teenager who was visiting Florida from New York died on Thursday night after a car crash that took place between two cars along State Road 417 in Orange County. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol indicated that the collision happened sometime during the night, and it appears that the driver of a 2007 Nissan Maxima lost control of their vehicle while traveling along the southern lanes of State Road 417.
Two Dead, Two Injured After Ford Rolls Over Toyota in Orange County
A two-car crash located within Orange County resulted in the death of two individuals and the severe injury of at least two others on the night of Thursday, April 11th. According to the early reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 9:30 in the evening, when a 2007 Ford pickup truck was being driven along State Road 50. The driver of this pickup truck, a 25-year-old Apopka resident, was joined in their car by two other individuals. Neither of these two passengers were named or described in the initial reports of the incident.
Orange County Resident Dies after Crashing into S.R. 528 Median
A 57-year-old Orange County resident died earlier this month when the car they were driving collided with a barrier located along the central dividing median of State Road 528. Early reports from the Florida Highway Patrol provided the public with little information regarding the reasons behind the incident, but they did suggest that the fatal car crash was still under investigation and that further reports on the incident in question might be expected.
T-Bone Crash Kills One in Orange County
A t-bone crash at an intersection close to Avalon Park resulted in the death of a 23-year-old Orlando resident on Thursday, April 4th. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that the incident took place at the intersection of Avalon Park Boulevard and Perdido Drive and involved two vehicles: a Toyota pickup truck and a Buick SUV.
One Dead, Two Injured in S.R. 50 Crash Near Tampa
A Tampa auto accident that took place on State Road 50, inside of Hernando County on Monday, March 25th, resulted in one fatality. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place close to 12:00 p.m. Shortly before this time, a 75-year-old resident of Venice was driving a Toyota Rav4 down the western lanes of State Road 50. Inside of the car with this individual was a 73-year-old from Venice and a 77-year-old from St. Petersburg. The report indicated that while the two passengers inside of the SUV were wearing their seatbelts, but the driver of the car was not.
Blown Tire Leads to Death Near Tampa
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol in Hillsborough County are officially declaring a blown tire to be behind the death of an individual on Friday, March 29th. According to the trooper’s reports, it was close to 4:30 in the afternoon when a 43-year-old man from Lutz was driving a 1999 Isuzu Trooper down the northern lanes of Interstate 75. The area where the man was driving was located on a stretch of I-75 that is located north of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, within Hillsborough County.
