Orlando Woman Killed After Crashing Into a Guardrail on Interstate 95

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on May 16, 2022

According to the responding troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol working within Brevard County, a 32-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries early Saturday morning after her disabled vehicle was struck by an oncoming motorist along Interstate 95 near Viera.

Preliminary collision reports from officers with the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that it was close to 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022, when a 32-year-old female resident of Orlando was driving a Nissan Altima in the northern direction of I-95. As she approached the vicinity of mile marker 189 near the Pineda Causeway, an unknown reason caused the driver to veer off the road and crash into a guardrail along the interstate. The impact from this initial accident flipped her car over before it finally came to a complete stop on the inside northbound lane.

Shortly after the rollover accident occurred, a 46-year-old Port St. Lucie man driving from the southern direction pulled his vehicle over to the side of the road in order to help the female driver escape her mangled car. It was as this Good Samaritan was assisting the Orlando resident that a 34-year-old man from Rockledge driving a Honda Civic in the northbound lane slammed into the woman’s Nissan. There are conflicting news reports about whether or not the female victim was already out of the car when the crash took place or if she was ejected from her vehicle at the time of the collision. Regardless, she sustained serious life-threatening injuries from the accident with the Honda Civic and was transported to a local hospital as soon as emergency medical teams showed up at the scene. Sadly, she was unable to survive and passed away soon after arrival at the medical facility.

Both men who were involved in the auto accident suffered minor injuries and were also taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. They are expected to make a full recovery.

Although no formal charges have been pressed at this time, authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol have launched an investigation into this deadly collision and additional details surrounding this accident should be released to the public at the conclusion of this case.
