Kissimmee Woman Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver on Poinciana Boulevard
Investigative authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol are currently looking into the death of a 37-year-old pedestrian after they were struck by a hit-and-run driver last Friday night on Poinciana Boulevard in Osceola County.
According to auto accident reports from troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, it was shortly before midnight on August 11, 2023, when a 37-year-old female from Kissimmee was walking near the intersection of Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway when she decided to cross Poinciana Boulevard in the western direction. Officials in Osceola County indicate that moments after the 37-year-old pedestrian left the sidewalk and stepped out onto the street, a southbound 2000 Chevrolet Silverado entered the area and crashed into the woman, who was not within a designated crosswalk at the time.
Immediately after the car vs. pedestrian accident occurred, the driver of the Chevy Silverado fled the scene. Their vehicle was recovered a short time later at a nearby parking lot, but the driver was nowhere to be found.
Multiple Osceola County emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene of the deadly collision and upon their arrival, they proceeded to administer life-saving measures to the severely-injured pedestrian. She was unable to survive and sadly passed away at the crash site. Her identity has not been released to the press.
