Tow Truck Driver Struck by Pickup in Palm Coast
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol working within Flagler County are currently investigating a pedestrian accident that severely injured one person yesterday afternoon along Sesame Boulevard in Palm Coast.
According to preliminary auto accident reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, it was approximately 12:23 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023, when a 39-year-old man from New Smyrna was driving a tow truck in the northbound direction of Sesame Boulevard. As he approached the intersection of Sesame Boulevard and Seminole Woods Boulevard, he stopped his vehicle in order to clean up some pieces of debris that he’d spotted on the street.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old woman from Palm Coast was pulling up to the same intersection in a gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck from the westbound direction of Seminole Woods Boulevard. She attempted to make a left turn onto Sesame Boulevard and struck the tow truck driver as he was standing outside of his vehicle.
Flagler County emergency services and officers with the Florida Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene of the car vs. pedestrian accident and immediately transported the crash victim to the nearest trauma center with serious injuries. His condition at the time of this writing is unknown.
The 21-year-old driver of the Toyota Tacoma was not harmed during the collision. No further information regarding this incident has been released.
