Man Arrested and Charged in Fatal Leesburg Hit-and-Run
A man from Leesburg has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident which took place within the city of Leesburg on October 16th. Reports from the Leesburg Police Department stated that the incident took place close to 9:40 at night, close to the intersection of State Road 27 and Little Harbor Pointe.
Plane Crash in Daytona Beach Leaves Two Seriously Injured
A plane crash within the Spruce Creek Airport located at Daytona Beach resulted in two individuals being taken to nearby hospitals as trauma alerts. Reports from emergency response teams working within Daytona indicated that the incident took place sometime during the day on Sunday, October 27th. The reports did not mention at what precise time the accident happened, and at the time of this writing it is not clear just which of the numerous emergency crews located within Daytona Beach responded to the reports of the crash.
Two Motorcyclists Die in New Smyrna Beach Crash
A head-on collision within Volusia County resulted in the death of two people and the serious injury of a third. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident was first reported sometime on the night of Tuesday, October 29th. It is not entirely clear at what time during the night the crash took place, but we know that it involved vehicles traveling along State Road 415, close to La Starza Drive, within the city of New Smyrna Beach.
Four-Year-Old Child Drowns in Volusia County Pond
Tragedy struck in Osteen during the end of October when a 4-year-old child went missing only to be found shortly afterwards floating in a pond. The drowning accident was reported on by deputies with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Department. According to the initial statements on the subject, the 4-year-old was in the garage with his father and several siblings shortly before they were discovered in the pond. It was a Saturday, and the family was gathered in the garage. It is not clear how many people were in the garage at the time, but the wording of the report made it clear that the father of the 4-year-old as well as several siblings were all together.
Fatal Ocala Plane Crash Claims the Lives of Two, Injures Another
Two people were killed and another injured this past Thursday, October 31st, 2019, when the aircraft they were flying suffered a mechanical malfunction, which then caused the plane to crash onto State Road 200 and collide with a vehicle that had been traveling along the highway.
One Person Airlifted to Hospital After Collision on Merritt Island
A crash involving a dump truck and a tractor-trailer carrying gravel caused massive traffic snarls along State Road 528 in Brevard County as well as an oil spill that required the attention of special emergency units trained in cleaning this time of hazardous material. Reports from the Florida Highway Patrol place the time of the accident at close to 9:00 in the morning Monday, October 28th. These reports state that the accident involved at least one of the two trucks mentioned above, but there was no indication whether or not other vehicles were involved.

Hazmat crews working within Brevard County were on hand shortly after an accident that took place on Monday, October 28th, along State Road 524. Reports from the Brevard County Fire Rescue indicate that the hazmat crews as well as other emergency response crews rushed to the area sometime shortly before 8:00 in the morning in response to reports of a dump truck crashing and overturning on the road.

Fatal Accident Involving SunRail Train in Kissimmee
Police within Kissimmee are currently investigating a death that occurred on Monday, October 28th, that left a single individual dead. Initial reports from the authorities within Kissimmee indicated that the train accident took place shortly before 6:30 in the morning, when a SunRail train was in the process of leaving the station. As the train approached Dakin Avenue, a 25-year-old individual made their way around the crossing lights and signals and onto the tracks. It is not clear if the driver of the train saw this person as the train approached or if the 25-year-old’s presence on the rails was not known until the train struck them.
Wrong-Way Crash in Lake County Leaves One Dead, One Injured
A Lake County crash that took place towards the end of October resulted in the death of at least one person as well as the severe injury of another. Troopers working with the Florida Highway Patrol in Lake County stated that the wrong-way collision took place on the morning of Thursday, October 24th, and involved two vehicles. One of these vehicles, a Hyundai Santa Fe, was traveling down the eastern lane of State Road 40 when he neared a curve in the road. At the same time, a Honda Fit, being driven by an unnamed individual, was traveling down the western lane of State Road 40. It is believed that the precise location of the crash lies somewhere just to the east of Gustafson Drive.
