AAA Releases Results of Study into Florida Wrong-Way Collisions
Recent data published by AAA sheds an unsettling light into wrong-way crashes on divided highways throughout the country in general, and Florida in particular. The data compiled by AAA states that, every year, about 500 people die as a result of head-on or wrong-way crashes that take place on divided highways. In Florida, it is estimated that between 30 and 35 people die every year as a result of wrong-way crashes on divided highways. These types of collisions, while not accounting for the majority of crashes throughout the state, are some of the most violent and fatal accidents that can take place, which is why this new report from AAA is so important.

A 23-year-old Florida woman is facing a litany of felonious charges this weekend after she was arrested by the Boca Raton Police Department for her alleged involvement in a fatal hit-and-run accident which claimed the life of a 75-year-old New York federal judge and seriously injured a 6-year-old boy this past Friday morning in Palm Beach County.

18-Year-Old Coral Springs Man Killed in Brevard County Car Crash on I-95
On Saturday, March 27th, an 18-year-old individual from Coral Springs was traveling within a car down the northern lanes of Interstate 95 when they were involved in a car accident. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, it was shortly after midnight when the 18-year-old was driving down I-95 and nearing mile marker 162 within Brevard County. In the car at the time was a 16-year-old who was not otherwise identified in the report.
Teenager Struck and Killed While Skateboarding in Daytona Beach
Police working in Daytona Beach are engaged in an ongoing investigation into the death of a 15-year-old adolescent male after they were hit by an SUV while riding a skateboard in Daytona Beach. At the time of this writing, the current reports indicate that it was sometime around 11:30 at night on Friday, March 26th, when the 15-year-old was riding their skateboard towards the intersection of Madison Avenue and White Street. At the same time, an SUV was headed towards the same intersection.
Man Arrested in Sanford After Two Fatal Hit-and-Run Incidents
Police working within Sanford have issued a report on the arrest of a 37-year-old individual who is believed to be behind two separate fatal hit-and-run accidents that took place on Monday, March 29th. The reports from the Sanford Police Department say that circumstances of the accident began as the 37-year-old was behind the wheel of a four-door Jaguar and traveling down the eastern lanes of State Road 46. Traveling in a lane near the four-door Jaguar was a motorcycle. It was as the two vehicles were nearing the intersection of State Road 46 and Summerlin Avenue that the driver of the Jaguar shifted their car in such a way as to strike the motorcyclist.

Bike Week Attendee Causes Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Daytona Beach
A 38-year-old man from Texas is facing a first-degree murder charge this week after police determined that he purposely struck and killed a pedestrian at the intersection of North Nova Road and West International Speedway Boulevard last Saturday evening in Daytona Beach, according to video surveillance footage retrieved by local law enforcement officials from traffic cameras on the night of the deadly accident.
