75th Annual Daytona Beach Bike Week Events
The Daytona Beach Bike Week kicked off this past Friday, March 4th, starting a ten-day long motorcycle extravaganza at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach. Doors opened at 9 a.m. for motorcycle enthusiasts who couldn’t wait to get a free test drive on all the new 2016 Harley Davidson models, plus check out all of the new clothing and gear for the 2016 riding season. Visitors could also check out other vendors and manufacturers showcases for the latest information and upcoming events.
Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Near Altamonte Springs
On the evening of Saturday, December 26th, 2015, an Apopka man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into two cars, one after the other. The incident, which took place on State Road 436 near Altamonte Springs, occurred around 6:30 pm.
Tragic Christmas Day Crash Takes Life of Florida Motorcyclist
A motorcyclist was killed in a tragic Christmas Day crash in Riverview. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 3 p.m. in the northbound lanes of U.S. 301 near Big Bend Road. Troopers said 43-year-old Louis Matthew Bruno from Valrico was riding his motorcycle in the northbound lane on 301 when a southbound Chevy Impala turned left in front of him at Summerfield Square Drive. The front of the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the Impala, being driven by 82-year-old Carole Sue Rink of Brandon. Bruno was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. Rink and her 15-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.
Dunedin Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash
A 56-year-old man from Dunedin was killed after he was thrown from his motorcycle after colliding with a truck that crossed into his oncoming path on U.S. Highway 19 in Clearwater, Florida.
Passenger Perishes in Tampa Motorcycle Accident
An accident in the northern section of Tampa, Florida has claimed the life of a female motorcycle passenger. According to Tampa police, a 2004 Lexus was attempting to make a left hand turn when it was struck by a Toyota Corolla. A Kawasaki motorcycle that had been following the Corolla slamming into the vehicle directly after it struck the Lexus. The motorcycle was driven by a male, with a female passenger also aboard. The female passenger was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. It is reported that the male and female aboard the motorcycle were husband and wife.
Panama City Beach Motorcycle Collision Injures Passenger And Pedestrian
On the morning of October 24th, officers at the Panama City Beach Police Department responded to a motorcycle-pedestrian traffic accident on South Thomas Drive near Alvin’s Island. When they arrived at the scene, officers located two female victims, an uninjured male, and a 2000 red Yamaha motorcycle.

Orlando Motorcycle Accidents Are On The Rise
Motorcycle accidents are common in Orlando. Over the past ten years, motorcycle accidents have increased by 50 percent, and fatalities have increased by almost 90 percent, according to Ride Smart Florida. From 2000 to 2008 there was a huge spike in motorcycle injuries and fatalities, which reduced in 2009 to 2010. However, since then, motorcycle accidents are on the rise again.
