Orlando Motorcycle Accidents Are On The Rise
Motorcycle accidents are common in Orlando. Over the past ten years, motorcycle accidents have increased by 50 percent, and fatalities have increased by almost 90 percent, according to Ride Smart Florida. From 2000 to 2008 there was a huge spike in motorcycle injuries and fatalities, which reduced in 2009 to 2010. However, since then, motorcycle accidents are on the rise again.
One Dead, Two Injured in Miami Motorcycle Accident
Early Sunday morning a violent motorcycle accident took the life of one and injured two others. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Christian Salazar and 21-year-old Miriam Perez-Duarte were driving side by side when they collided and were thrown off their vehicles. Salazar died on the scene and Perez-Duarte was rushed to the nearby hospital. A passerby attempted to stop and help but ended up crashing into the debris with minor injuries. The accident happened at around 4am on I-95 Southbound in Miami. The cause is still being investigated.
