Family Vacation to Florida Turns Tragic
A fun Florida family vacation quickly turned into a tragedy when a family of three’s SUV veered off the road and into a tree. The single-vehicle crash, which happened on Interstate 95 near the International Golf Parkway and St. Augustine, left a 32 year old mother and her four year old son dead. The father, age 37, remains in critical condition at a nearby Florida hospital. A fourth person in the vehicle, identified as a 42 year old aunt, is being treated for minor injuries.
Multiple Vehicle Accident Reported in St. Johns County, Florida
According to the St Johns County, Florida Fire and Rescue authorities, a multiple vehicle accident was reported on US Highway 1 near the Las Colinas neighborhood. The accident, which happened during the afternoon of January 3, 2017, left one dead, one injured and all southbound lanes closed for hours.

Police Find Crashed Car In Pensacola with Woman Inside
Over the weekend the police in Pensacola, Florida, came across an unexpected site. While out on the regular morning patrol, two officers found a wrecked vehicle – with a woman inside. They immediately broke open the window and pulled her out. Although they performed CPR while waiting for paramedics and EMS to arrive to take her to the hospital, it was later confirmed that she had died.

A teenager was killed following a multi-car accident in Jacksonville. The accident happened at the intersection of St John’s Bluff and Beach Boulevard, one of the city’s busiest crossroads. In addition to the teen, two others were taken to the hospital for life threatening injuries where they remain in serious condition.
Infants Safe Following Multi-Car Collision in Mims
A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 late Sunday left several people injured, including three infants. The crash happened late Sunday just south of Mims, Florida. Although all those involved were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, the Florida Highway Patrol reports that all are now recovering without any serious injuries. One officer specifically notes that the fact all three infants were properly strapped into car seats played a big role in their well-being.
Elderly Florida Couple Killed Following Two Car Crash
An elderly couple were killed this week following a fatal two-car crash. The auto accident happened near the couple’s home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The couple were returning home to the Siesta Bay RV Resort on Summerlin Road when they crashed into a car coming out of the RV park and attempting to make a left turn. The couple were taken to a local hospital where, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, they died.
Florida Car Versus Train Accidents on the Rise
An 87 year old woman dies Friday after her car was hit by a Tri-Rail train in Palm Beach Florida. The accident happened at the Yamato Road crossing. According to police reports, the driver was traveling east on Yamato Road at approximately 8:30 in the morning. Although the railroad crossing gates were down, the driver drove her red sedan through the gates. As her vehicle crossed the tracks, it was hit by a southbound train. Police told a local news station that the driver was the only person in the vehicle. Although nobody on the train was reported injured, the accident closed the area to traffic for over six hours.
SnapChat Video Indicates Speeding Was Cause of Deadly Tampa Bay Crash
According to the shaky cell phone video obtained by the Florida Highway Patrol, speed was the cause of a recent Tampa Bay area motor vehicle crash that claimed the lives of five – including two children. In the 10 second video filmed by the vehicle’s passenger, you can see the speed registers across the screen – first at 82.6 mph, then climbing to 115.6 mph – all with load club music playing in the background. The posted speed limit on this stretch of road is 50 mph.
