Two Young Girls Killed in Orlando Automobile Accident
Two young girls were killed in a recent Orlando automobile accident. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Orange Blossom Trail (OBT) and, in addition to the two deaths, also left two others seriously injured.
Based on information provided in the accident report, a Pontiac car traveling northbound on Orange Blossom Trail crossed into the southbound lane and hit the right side of an oncoming Cadillac SUV. The reason for the car to cross into the oncoming traffic lane is unknown. Police say that the two girls were in the Pontiac. The 10 year old girl was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 12 year old, presumably a sister, was taken to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital where she later died. Both passengers are reported to have been wearing their seat belts.
The driver of the Pontiac, a 31 year old female and the mother of the two young girls killed in the accident, along with the driver of the Cadillac SUV, were both taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for their injuries.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the cause of the accident remains under investigation. Regardless of the outcome of this investigation, the driver of the Cadillac SUV is likely to have legal grounds to seek compensation for her injuries and the damage caused to her vehicle. In order to do this, the driver will have to file a Florida personal injury lawsuit, in which she will claim that the negligent driving of the other driver is the cause of her injuries. If successful, the SUV driver could receive compensation for her medical bills and treatment, future medical expenses, loss of income and pain and suffering.
