Police Find Crashed Car In Pensacola with Woman Inside
Over the weekend the police in Pensacola, Florida, came across an unexpected site. While out on the regular morning patrol, two officers found a wrecked vehicle – with a woman inside. They immediately broke open the window and pulled her out. Although they performed CPR while waiting for paramedics and EMS to arrive to take her to the hospital, it was later confirmed that she had died.
According to reports from the Pensacola Police Department, it is believed that the fatal car accident happened around 3:20 in the morning on North Palafox Street. The driver was a 30 year old female and the car a blue 2004 Kia Spectra. As the driver was turning at Jackson Street, somehow the driver lost control, casing the car to leave the road and hit a tree. As she was not wearing a seat belt, the impact caused the injuries that ultimately led to her death.
As to why she lost control of the vehicle remains unknown, the police are asking anyone with information about the car crash to contact them immediately. Although considering the time of the accident, there is a good chance that the cause of the crash was either alcohol or drug related or falling asleep, there is always the possibility that the driver swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle or pedestrian.
If either of the later scenarios are found to be true, and that the other driver or pedestrian were acting negligently or recklessly in a way that would have caused the driver of the Kia to have to swerve out of the way, then her surviving family could have grounds to file a wrongful death suit against the other party. A Florida wrongful death claim allows surviving family members to seek damages resulting from the death of a family member, usually limited to a spouse, child or parent. Since wrongful death claims are complex, it is highly recommended that you seek the advice of an experienced Florida personal injury attorney.
