Orlando Man Killed During T-bone Car Crash in Central Florida
Florida Highway Patrol officers operating within Orange County are currently working to determine the cause of a deadly T-bone collision that claimed the life of a 32-year-old Orlando resident Saturday evening close to the intersection of Caneel Bay Boulevard and Wyndham Lakes Boulevard in Meadow Woods, Florida.
According to preliminary crash reports from the responding troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, a 32-year-old man from Orlando was driving a sedan in the westbound direction of Wyndham Lakes Boulevard at the same time a 42-year-old man, also from Orlando, was driving a sport utility vehicle in the northbound direction of Caneel Bay Boulevard. As the two motorists approached the intersection of Caneel Bay Boulevard and Wyndham Lakes Boulevard, the driver of the SUV failed to stop at the traffic signs governing the area and slammed into the driver’s side of the sedan. The force of impact from the collision was so great that it caused the SUV to roll over onto its side before eventually crashing into a nearby brick wall, while the sedan spun out of control and finally came to a rest after violently striking a roadside tree on the passenger’s side of the vehicle.
Local Orange County emergency response teams sprang into action as soon as they received word from 9-1-1 dispatchers and arrived at the accident site within a matter of minutes. Upon assessing the situation, it was quickly discovered that the 32-year-old sedan driver had suffered serious life-threatening injuries during the collision and had already passed away. The 42-year-old SUV driver reportedly suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment.
The investigation into this fatal accident is ongoing. It is unknown at this time if the driver of the sport utility vehicle will face any legal charges for allegedly running the stop sign and causing the tragic collision. Additional details are expected to be released as soon as the Florida Highway Patrol closes the case.
