Flesh-Eating Bacteria Kills Employee of Universal Orlando
An investigation is underway into the death of a Universal Orlando employee who was consumed by a flesh-eating bacteria over the course of several weeks towards the end of August. The individual, who is survived by his wife and two children, first noticed a problem during the middle of the month, when he began to experience flu-like symptoms. The initial response of the individual was to call a medical hotline, where they were told that they did indeed have the flu. When the symptoms didn’t subside, the individual went to the emergency room.
Melbourne Police Investigating Deadly Accident Involving Pedestrian
After the night of Friday, August 23rd, police and detectives working within the city of Melbourne were working together to investigate a pedestrian accident that took place along North Harbor City Boulevard and resulted in the death of an individual. In the initial reports on the incident, not many of the details were available. Even now, it is not entirely clear just what happened to result in the fatal crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
Citrus County Sheriff Strikes and Kills Pedestrian in Hernando County
Reports are still emerging regarding an incident that took place in Citrus County on the night of Wednesday, August 21st, and resulted in the death of a pedestrian. What we know at the time of this writing is that the pedestrian in question was attempting to cross U.S. Highway 19 inside of Hernando County. It was sometime around 9:00 in the evening when the pedestrian was making this attempt. At the same time, the sheriff for Citrus County was on his way back from a board meeting.
Dirt Bike Rider Killed in Orange County Crash with Ford
Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol within Orange County were among the first responders to a fatal accident that occurred between a 2007 Ford four-door and a Kawasaki dirt bike. At the time of this writing, it is not believed that any charges are pending against any of the individuals involved in the accident.
Orlando Woman Struck and Killed in Hit-and-Run on OBT
Members of the Florida Highway Patrol in Orange County reported on a pedestrian accident that happened early on the morning of Monday, May 27th, and resulted in the death of one 62-year-old woman from Orlando. While the incident remains under investigation, the reports that have emerged so far indicate that it happened sometime around 1:15 in the morning, at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and 40th Street.
Ten-Year-Old Struck and Killed by Semi-Truck in Orlando
A ten-year-old child was killed on Wednesday, April 24th, after being struck by a semi-truck while riding a bicycle home from Wetherbee Elementary School in Orlando. At the time of this writing, the truck and the driver involved have not been located or identified.
Investigation Continues into the Death of Worker at Epcot
It was early in March that a fatal incident happened to a worker who was in the process of trying to load a cherry picker into the back of a pickup truck while on the property of Epcot, the popular Disney tourist spot. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, however recent findings suggest that the individual who died was not wearing the proper safety features when the fatal industrial accident occurred.
One Dies in Lake County Mobile Home Fire
A mobile home in Lake County erupted into flames on Friday, February 5th, ultimately resulting in the death of one individual. According to reports from the Lake County Fire Rescue, the incident was first reported shortly before 4:30 in the morning after a person walking by the home heard explosions as well as saw flames shooting from the structure.
Construction Worker Dies in I-4 Ultimate Accident
Around two weeks ago, work on the massive I-4 Ultimate Project was halted while an investigation by numerous groups attempted to discover what caused the death of one of the workers with SGL Constructors. Reports from the Orange County Fire Rescue indicated that the worker was a 59-year-old individual who was working along a stretch of Wymore Road when the fatal construction accident occurred.
Pedestrian Struck and Killed while Crossing Orlando Street
The Florida Highway Patrol issued a statement recently about an incident which happened on Saturday, February 9th, that resulted in the death of one pedestrian. The Florida Highway Patrol’s report stated that the fatal interaction took place close to 6:30 at night, at the intersection of Goldenrod Road and Lake Underhill Road. This area, not a heavily trafficked one, still receives its fair share of road traffic, which means that pedestrians are encouraged to remain alert as to what is going on in the roadway around them.
