Fatal Truck Accident Closes Highway 331
All lanes of Highway 331 were closed recently after a fatal truck accident. The accident occurred just north of the Clyde Wells Bridge near the intersection of LaGrange Road and Highway 331 around 4:30 p.m. one recent Friday, bringing heavy rush hour traffic to a complete halt. One accident witness said a dump truck crashed into a Ford Explorer. The Explorer’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger was taken to an area hospital for treatment for undisclosed injuries. Orlando personal injury lawyer James O. Cunningham would like to remind his readers that dump trucks and other heavy trucks outweigh passenger vehicles by tens of thousands of pounds. In the event of a collision, the occupants of smaller vehicles often suffer critical, even fatal, injuries that change the course of their lives forever.
Driver Charged With Careless Driving After Trucking Accident
A 45-year-old DeFuniak Springs man is facing careless driving charges after causing a Florida truck accident on U.S. Highway 90 recently. Florida Highway Patrol officers investigating the accident say that the driver was driving his tractor-trailer westbound on U.S. 90 when he rear-ended a Chevrolet Silverado around 12:38 p.m. The impact caused the semi to roll over and slide on its passenger side across the busy highway, completely blocking the eastbound lanes and partially blocking the westbound lanes.
Truck Accident Kills Lake County Man
A rear-end truck accident has claimed the life of a Lake County man. The accident occurred at 5:30 a.m. on the morning of March 3 on U.S. Highway 27 and resulted in the closure of the highway for several hours. Florida Highway Patrol investigators say the victim was a 46-year-old Clermont man who was driving his car to work. A semi truck that left a private driveway off Frank Jarrell Road and attempted to turn onto U.S. 27 pulled in front of the victim’s car, causing the victim to strike the rear of the truck. Police say the truck was attempting to travel south on U.S. 27 when the driver crossed the northbound lanes and pulled directly into the path of the victim.
