Teacher Injured in Orlando Auto Accident
A 33-year-old Evans High science teacher suffered injuries when her Jeep was struck by a stolen vehicle carrying three teens. Police report that the 17-year-old driver of the stolen Mitsubishi ran a red light and struck the teacher’s Jeep Liberty on the passenger side. The accident occurred around 7 a.m. on Nov. 26 near the high school at the intersection of Silver Star Road and Kingsland Avenue.
Police Investigating Florida Motorcycle Accident That Killed One Man and Injured Another
Florida Highway Patrol troopers report that one man was killed and another injured in a recent motorcycle accident at John Young Parkway and Blackstone Drive in Orange County. They say that a 30-year-old Kissimmee man suffered fatal injuries and a 36-year-old Orlando man was seriously injured when their motorcycles were forced off the road by a white van. The investigation is still underway, but troopers say that the two motorcycles and the van were northbound on John Young when the van’s driver attempted to move into the inside lane. The maneuver cut off the riders, forcing them into the median where they lost control of their motorcycles.
Ten People Injured in Orlando Drag Racing Accident
Orlando police report that they have made an arrest in a recent drag racing incident that critically injured two people and sent eight other spectators to area hospitals. They say that the apprehension of one of the drivers, a 22-year-old Central Florida man, will lead to several charges including unlawful racing, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, reckless driving and others. One Person Killed, Another Injured in Fatal S.R. 528 Accident in Florida
One man was killed and other seriously injured when the truck they were driving collided with the back of another truck on State Road 528 in Orange County. Florida Highway Patrol accident investigators are still conducting their investigation into the accident but report that the accident involved a U-Haul truck pulling a trailer and a pickup truck that was also hauling a trailer. Officers say that a 22-year-old passenger was killed and the 58-year-old driver of the U-Haul truck was seriously injured because they were following the pickup truck and trailer too closely when the accident occurred.
Orlando Motorcycle Accident Critically Injures Man
A Titusville man was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition recently after a motorcycle accident. Accident investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol say that the 48-year-old man was riding his motorcycle near the intersection of County Road 42 and County Road 25 shortly before 5 p.m. when he improperly passed a stopped vehicle. They say the man tried to get around a vehicle that had stopped for an as-yet unknown reason by passing the vehicle on the right shoulder when he slammed his 2001 Yamaha V-Star motorcycle into a minivan that had also stopped.
Dump Truck Hits Taxi Cab Killing Two
Two people were killed recently when the cab they were riding in was struck by a dump truck at a high rate of speed. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, but a spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol said the accident occurred on Monday, June 6 around 2:00 a.m. Officers say the cab was stopped on State Road 528 near the McCoy Road exit near Orlando International Airport when it was struck from the rear by the dump truck. Police say the impact nearly tore the back end of the cab completely off, killing the 55-year-old passenger riding in the back of the cab and mortally injuring the taxi driver. The 39-year-old driver was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition, and he died from his injuries two days later.
Worker Killed in Disney World Accident
A worker severely injured while repairing a ride at Walt Disney World has died from his injuries according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Officials investigating the fatal Orlando amusement park accident say the 52-year-old victim suffered massive head injuries while repairing the Primeval Whirl roller coaster ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They say the victim was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center shortly after the accident, where he died of his injuries the following day on March 14. Orlando personal injury attorney James O. Two Injured when Car Slams into Restaurant
The Orlando Sentinel reports a car hit the exterior of the Golden Corral restaurant in Altamonte Springs on State Road 434 south of State Road 436 with sufficient force to knock down one of the restaurant’s walls, injuring a husband and wife having lunch.
