Head-On Accident Injures Two Children and Critically Injures Two Women

A recent head-on collision involving two passenger cars in Seminole County has injured two children and critically injured the two women, who were driving the vehicles. According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers investigating the accident, the accident occurred around 8 a.m. on U.S. Highway 17-92 near Interstate 4. Troopers report that a 50-year-old Orange City woman was driving a Chrysler south on U.S. Highway 17-92 when she traveled into the northbound lanes and struck a Honda coupe head-on. The driver of the Honda, a 29-year-old Deltona woman, and the driver of the Chrysler were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where they received treatment for critical injuries.

Seminole County Officials Plan to Euthanize Dog That Bit Waitress in Oviedo

Seminole County Animal Control officers recently announced that they planned to euthanize a dog that bit a waitress at an Outback Steakhouse in Oviedo recently. Officials say that the 25-year-old owner of the American Staffordshire terrier surrendered the animal to authorities for a required 10-day quarantine period, where the animal will be monitored for signs of rabies.

FHP Troopers Seeking Public’s Help in Hit-and-Run Accident that Killed Two Women in Pine Hills

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are asking for the public’s help after a recent hit-and-run accident that killed two Orlando women. Troopers say that the 53-year-old and 78-year-old female victims of the accident were longtime friends and neighbors in Orlando’s Richmond Estates neighborhood. Troopers report that the women were traveling together after their weekly trip to the grocery store when a driver running a red light struck their vehicle in Pine Hills and fatally injured them both.

Man Killed in Orlando Pedestrian Accident on Colonial Drive

Orlando police report that a pedestrian was struck and killed recently while attempting to cross Colonial Drive near John Young Parkway. Police say that their investigation is ongoing but report that the accident occurred shortly after midnight when a grey Toyota passenger car traveling eastbound on Colonial Drive towards downtown Orlando collided with a man; age and address unknown. The victim was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

St. Petersburg Man Killed in I-4 Motorcycle Accident

Accident investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol say that a motorcyclist was killed on Interstate 4 recently when his bike was struck from behind by a passenger vehicle. Troopers say that the victim, a 34-year-old St. Petersburg man, was traveling westbound on I-4 near mile marker 73 in Orlando when a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old Orlando man came from behind him in the outside lane and struck the back of his motorcycle without slowing down. They say that the rider was struck from behind by the right fender of the car.

Trucking Accident Snarls Traffic on I-95 for Hours

Motorists on Interstate 95 were stuck in traffic for a few hours recently when a tractor-trailer flipped onto its side and a passenger car overturned near LPGA Boulevard in Volusia County. Florida Highway Patrol troopers say that the accident occurred around 11:20 a.m. just south of the LPGA Boulevard exit in the northbound lanes of I-95. Although investigators have released few details about the accident, they say that the truck may have swerved to avoid striking something in the roadway and that the passenger car overturned while attempting to avoid striking the truck.

One Person Killed, Two Injured in Florida Aviation Accident Near Tampa

Accident investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board, along with local authorities, are investigating a recent fatal aviation accident that occurred in Clearwater. Officers with the Clearwater Police Department report that the single-engine aircraft crashed in the median of a six-lane street at an undisclosed location of the city, sending burning debris across all six lanes of the roadway. Firefighters from the Clearwater Fire Department responded quickly to the crash and extinguished several small fires.

A recent fatal bicycle accident that claimed the life of a 6-year-old boy riding his bike to school has prompted Orange County officials to take steps to make the area safer for kids walking and biking to school. The accident that spurred officials to take action involved a collision between the bicyclist and a tractor-trailer near on Landstar Boulevard near northbound State Road 417. The boy was on his way to Meadow Woods Elementary School and was attempting to cross Landstar Blvd. when he was struck and killed by the semi.

Head-On Crash between Car and Lynx Bus sends Eight People to Area Hospitals

Orlando police officers are still investigating what caused a recent head-on collision between a Lynx bus and a passenger vehicle on Orange Avenue that sent 15 people to area hospitals. Accident investigators say that the crash occurred around 6:40 p.m. on Orange Avenue near the south end of Lake Ivanhoe. Police say that the driver of the car, age and address unknown, was apparently traveling in the wrong lane on Orange Avenue when it collided with the front of the bus, sending him and at least seven passengers on the bus to local hospitals.
