One Dies in Head-On Car Crash Close to Tampa
A fatal auto accident took place close to Tampa inside of Hillsborough County on Tuesday, January 15th, and officers with the Florida Highway Patrol are currently working to discover just what happened and who, if anyone, is primarily responsible. According to the reports that emerged shortly after the initial incident took place, the accident happened sometime close to 5:45 in the morning, just before the morning rush hour traffic was beginning to gather.
85-Year-Old Crashes Car Through Orange County Restaurant
On Tuesday, January 15th, diners who were enjoying a late lunch at a Chinese restaurant located within Orange County received a shock when a driver traveling down N. Hiawassee Road lost control of their vehicle, left the asphalt, and collided with the restaurant.
Charges Filed against Truck Drivers Involved in Deadly I-75 Crash
UPDATE: We recently reported on a horrific crash that took place along I-75, close to Gainesville, on January 3rd. In this accident, two tractor-trailers as well as several other vehicles were involved in a pileup that turned into a fiery explosion that left seven people, including five children, dead. Updates to the story informed the public that the children were all traveling inside of the same van and were being taken as part of a church trip from Louisiana to Walt Disney World.

Pedestrian Killed along Colonial Drive in Orange County
Little is currently known about an incident that took place on Saturday, January 12th, and resulted in the death of a pedestrian within Orange County. At the time of this writing, the Florida Highway Patrol has only said that the incident took place close to the intersection Colonial Drive and Lake Downey Drive. It is not known what time of day the incident took place, although this is likely of high importance given the lower visibility that pedestrians encounter while trying to cross streets at night.
Over 400 Contract Norovirus Aboard Royal Caribbean Ship
A voyage of the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Oasis of the Seas ended earlier than expected after numerous passengers became extremely ill due to an outbreak of the norovirus. According to reports from a spokesperson for Royal Caribbean, out of the 6,823 passengers aboard the ship, more than 400 people (both passengers and crew) were affected by the virus within a few days after the ship departed from Port Canaveral on Sunday, January 6th.
K9 Units Help Capture Hit-and-Run Driver Near Tampa
Nearing the end of December, police working with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a head-on crash that took place east of the intersection of Watson Road and Bloomingdale Avenue, close to Tampa. The reports state that the incident happened close to 8:45 in the evening and involved a 23-year-old person driving a 2019 Honda Civic and a 29-year-old person driving a 1997 Dodge Dakota. Deputies stated that the Dodge was stolen at some point before the accident took place.
Construction Worker Hospitalized after Being Buried Alive in Gainesville
An investigation is currently underway into just what happened on Thursday, January 10th, to result in an unnamed individual working for an unnamed construction company to fall into a 30-foot deep hole and then become covered in dirt. A statement released on Friday, January 11th, indicates that the worker is alive and recovering in a hospital near to the area where the construction accident took place, but much more information than that is not readily available.
Three Injured in Crash Between Airboats in West Cocoa
A collision on Thursday, January 10th, inside of West Cocoa left numerous people in the hospital while units working with the Brevard County Fire Rescue were engaged in cleaning up and investigating the incident. Early reports suggest that the airboat accident took place close to the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp which is located along a stretch of the St. Johns River that parallels State Road 520.
Norovirus Outbreak Aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Sickens Hundreds
On Wednesday, January 9th, 2019, one of Royal Caribbean’s cruise ships began an early trek back home after a norovirus outbreak was reported on board, causing almost three hundred people to fall ill just three days into their holiday.
