One-Year-Old Survives Deadly Osceola County Car Crash
A fatal car crash was reported close to the intersection of Buenaventura Boulevard and Wagon Circle in Osceola County very early in the morning on Sunday, July 19th. According to the reports issued by the Florida Highway Patrol, the calendar date had just changed from July 18th to the 19th when a single car was traveling down the roadway close to the above-mentioned intersection. Behind the wheel of this car was a 22-year-old Kissimmee resident.
The car also contained a second 22-year-old Kissimmee resident as well as a one-year-old child. While the specific relation of these three was not included in the initial report, it seems highly possible that they were a young family traveling down the road on their way home from some other location.
It was as they were making their way down Buenaventura Boulevard that they reached a curve on the road that the driver had some difficulty navigating. As a result, they lost control of the vehicle.
Before they were able to regain control, the sedan departed from the roadway and careened towards a tree located nearby. When the car struck the tree it was with a considerable amount of force, enough to cause both the 22-year-old driver and the 22-year-old passenger to suffer significant injuries. The one-year-old within the car also suffered injuries, but the reports made clear that these were only minor and not at all life-threatening.
A witness to the scene called the emergency response crews to the area and soon there were numerous troopers as well as EMTs and paramedics in the area to help treat the wounded.
Due to the severe nature of the injuries suffered by the 22-year-old passenger, there was nothing that the emergency medical personnel could do. This individual was declared dead at the scene of the crash. The 22-year-old driver was still alive when the paramedics reached the scene, and they were taken from the crash site to a hospital in the area. The person was admitted to the hospital in critical condition, and it is not known whether or not they were able to be stabilized or if they currently remain under emergency care.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
