Fatal Single Car Crash Involving Utility Pole in Osceola County
An auto accident that took place during the early morning hours of Monday, June 15th, resulted in the death of a single individual. It is not believed that any other people were involved in the incident, and only one vehicle was involved in the crash. Currently, the event is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. All current information comes from this source.
It was sometime before 2:00 in the morning when a Kissimmee resident was within their vehicle and traveling down Old Lake Wilson Road within Osceola County. The reports did not indicate where the driver was coming from. It is not known if authorities believe speed or the excessive use of substances such as alcohol played any role in the incident.
The motorist was driving down Old Lake Wilson Road when they drew near to the intersection between this road and Sand Hill Road. The precise time that this happened is not clear, but we do know that as they neared the intersection something happened to cause them to lose control of their vehicle. The car swerved across the roadway and left the asphalt. It continued along the side of the road for a brief period of time and then crashed into a utility pole standing next to the road. The force of the crash was tremendous, leading investigators to believe that the driver was not able to slow the vehicle down before crashing into the pole.
We do not know who notified police about the incident. It is possible that the crash wasn’t discovered until a passing motorist saw the wreckage and noticed the authorities. What is clear is that the police and paramedics arrived at the area sometime around 2:00 in the morning.
The force of the crash caused the driver, a 32-year-old individual, to suffer from extremely severe injuries. While it is not clear if they were alive when the emergency medical teams reached the area, we do know that the motorist was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
An investigation into the accident remains underway as the authorities work to discover why the driver lost control of the car in the first place.
