DeFuniak Springs Auto Accident Leaves Two in Critical Condition
A report has been released by the Florida Highway Patrol that two individuals, Kenneth James Mount, 54, and Elizabeth Renee Little, 47, were involved in a one-car accident sometime around 12:00 a.m. Thursday morning in Walton County. While a full explication of the incident is still pending, the information released up until this moment indicates that the accident involved one 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck which was traveling along the eastbound lane of Padgett Road (Walton CR 183B).
Upon encountering a sharp left-hand curve, Mount, who was behind the wheel of the F-150, failed to navigate the turn properly, which caused the pickup to exit the road along the south shoulder, cross over a ditch, and collide with a sizable pine tree.
As of yet, the only other information released by the Florida Highway Patrol says that both Mount and Little were taken to Panama City’s Bay Medical Center. Upon arriving at the medical center, Mount and Little were each declared to be in critical condition.
Part of the ongoing investigation is into whether or not Mount was under the influence of alcohol during the time of the accident. Other possible causes for the accident are also being explored, but no updates or further explanation have been issued by the Florida Highway Patrol.
Accidents such as this occur with relative frequency throughout Florida, which in no way eliminates the life-altering and tragic way they often affect us and our families. While Mount and Little battle for their lives, other people who have encountered similar situations and survived are battling with the residual effects, which can often include disastrously high medical bills and recovery costs. In fact, many people who undergo the violent experience of an auto accident claim that the experiences of trying to cobble their lives back together and the financial strain inflicted by the event itself are worse that the physical effects.
It is therefore imperative to seek out proper legal representation as soon as possible after experiencing an accident of an automotive (or other) sort. Without this, the chances for financial remuneration begin to dwindle rapidly.
