Brevard County Auto Accident Injures Five

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on December 7, 2015

On the evening of Saturday, November 21st, 2015, the southbound lanes of I-95 were shut down for roughly two hours after a multi-vehicle accident occurred, injuring 5 people. The accident, which occurred around 8:00 pm at the State Road 192 overpass, created a nearly one-mile backup of traffic behind the location of the scene. Eventually, the accident was cleared by police and emergency personnel and traffic was able to resume.

The first responders from Brevard County Fire Rescue included three ambulances which were used to transport the 5 injured individuals to area hospitals for medical treatment. The identity of the victims has not been released to the public, and no details have yet been shared regarding their current medical status. Fortunately, none of the drivers or passengers were killed or listed as having been in critical condition, suggesting that injuries were mild and treatable.

According to Brevard County Fire Rescue professionals, this may be one of several crashes caused by wet weather and slick roads, including other accidents in South Brevard, at State Road 520 and State Road 528. All of these accidents occurred Saturday night, leading to a busy evening for Brevard County Fire and Rescue teams. It is uncertain at present whether elements like excessive speed or reckless driving on the part of any of the drivers may have played a role in the crash. Whatever the case, the crash seems to serve as a warning and reminder to Florida drivers that a combination of inclement weather and darkness requires an alert mind and careful driving techniques.
