Boca Raton Woman Dies in Crash on I-95

After a serious car accident on I-95 the night of Friday, November 20th, 2015, a middle-aged Boca Raton woman was killed. The victim, 44-year-old Hanna Tichy, was headed southbound on I-95 through Deerfield Beach in her 2005 Kia Sorento when she apparently swerved to the right and managed to flip the vehicle two times. According to reports, Tichy lost control of her car around 10:30 p.m. just south of the Hilsboro Boulevard exit.

It was reported by the Florida Highway Patrol that because Tichy was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the force of the vehicle’s two subsequent rollovers actually threw her from the car. Sadly, because of the traumatic nature of the incident and the resulting severe physical injuries, Tichy was pronounced dead at the scene before she could ever be taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Florida Highway Patrol is still in the process of investigating the crash, and have not yet determined the exact reason that Tichy left the center lane. No additional details regarding the incident have been released at present. Reports have not been able to say whether testing or analysis has shown the involvement of any drugs or alcohol, and it is still uncertain how fast Tichy was driving at the time of the accident. It is also uncertain whether or not the use of a seat belt at the time of the crash would have saved her from fatal injury. Regardless, the end result of the accident is the same: an unfortunate and unexpected loss of life.
