Runaway Truck Kills Apopka Tree Trimmer
In what could be considered a freak accident, a 27-year-old Apopka man was killed by his own truck in a runaway vehicle accident in Lake County on October 14th, 2015. The man, Donovan Thorney, was working as a tree trimmer when his vehicle rolled backward and ended up pinning him between the back of the truck and a nearby power pole.
Truck Crashes Into St. Augustine Home
It’s every homeowner’s fear: unexpectedly, your house suffers significant damage due to a terrible accident. Around 6:25 p.m. on Sunday, October 18th, a truck crashed into the side of a woman’s St. Augustine home. The home, located at 27 Ocean Way, sustained minor structural damage as a result.
Orlando Man Dies After Being Hit by Truck
Twenty-one-year-old Joel Moore was walking westbound across Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando when he was hit by a landscaping truck. According to witnesses, Moore was crossing the street around 9am Thursday morning when he stopped to speak with someone in a vehicle waiting for the traffic light. When he continued to finish crossing the street he was struck by driver Rafael Martinez. Martinez claims to have had a green light. Police are still determining the details of what happened. The pedestrian was rushed to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where he later passed away.
Orlando Man T-Boned by Truck On Way to Work
One day in early April, a 34-year-old father of four was driving to the airport, about to take a trip from Orlando to Dallas for work, when he was T-boned by a pickup truck. He was trapped inside the vehicle and eventually extricated and taken to the hospital, where he was treated for critical injuries including a collapsed lung, broken ribs, a fractured pelvis, and internal injuries. This accident left his family shattered, and his future uncertain.
Fiery Orange County Crash Delays Traffic on I-4
On Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015, traffic was delayed for several hours on Interstate 4 in Orange County, due to vehicle crash that happened the night before. Late Tuesday just before midnight, a semi-truck was in a single-vehicle wreck that occurred by the Par Street exit ramp on the heavily traveled I-4 near Winter Park, Florida.

Truck Crashes into and Severely Damages Orange County Home, Injuring Teen Occupants
Florida Highway Patrol troopers that a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old with no driver’s license lost control recently and crashed into an Orange County home. Troopers say that the crash seriously injured four teens who were riding in the truck but no one on the home was injured. Footage from a neighbor’s surveillance camera showed the moments before the Ford Ranger slammed into the home with enough force to push the home off its foundation.
Local Man Critically Injured When His Car Is Struck By Stolen Truck
A 27-year-old Orlando man was critically injured recently when his car was struck by a stolen pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old Winter Springs girl. The girl faces numerous charges in connection with the accident and the alleged theft of a Chevrolet pickup truck. Florida Highway Patrol troopers report that they first spotted the girl when they noticed her driving without her headlights on Goldenrod Road near Bates Avenue in Orange County early in the morning on Feb. 21. When a trooper attempted to pull her over, she fled from him at a high rate of speed before causing the accident that injured the Orlando man.
Florida Newlyweds Escape Injury When Debris Pierces Their Windshield On I-95
Santeena Spates and Carlton Francis Jr. were in their car running a few post-wedding errands before leaving town for their honeymoon when they had a very serious scare while traveling on Interstate 95. A large pole became airborne and went right through the windshield of their Range Rover. The event occurred around 11:30 a.m. one recent morning while the couple was traveling southbound on I-95 near the Griffin Road exit in Hollywood. The couple remembers seeing a vehicle in front of them hit some debris in the roadway right before the pole broke through their windshield.
Dump Truck Hits Taxi Cab Killing Two
Two people were killed recently when the cab they were riding in was struck by a dump truck at a high rate of speed. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, but a spokesperson for the Florida Highway Patrol said the accident occurred on Monday, June 6 around 2:00 a.m. Officers say the cab was stopped on State Road 528 near the McCoy Road exit near Orlando International Airport when it was struck from the rear by the dump truck. Police say the impact nearly tore the back end of the cab completely off, killing the 55-year-old passenger riding in the back of the cab and mortally injuring the taxi driver. The 39-year-old driver was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition, and he died from his injuries two days later.
