Hoverboards Recalled Due to Fire Hazard
Hoverboards, once believed to be the transportation of the future, have taken a long time to come into existence. Even though many of us were ready to do whatever it took after seeing Back to the Future 2 to get our hands on a hoverboard, it has only been recently that this somewhat magical transportation method has come into existence. There are, however, some kinks that need working through, hence the massive recall.

Car Crashes into Orlando Home
Usually, 12:35am is a quiet time of night for Orlando residents who live on Bonneville Drive. Close to the University of Central Florida, this residential street receives heavy traffic, but it is still lined with homes and families, many of whom were sleeping on June 20th, when Bruce Bonds, a 37-year-old Orlando man, failed to negotiate a tricky curve as he approached Hertha Drive, hit a tree, and crashed into a home on Bonneville Drive’s 2400 block. The home, owned by a Ms. Morse, was badly damaged in the accident, but she and an unnamed guest were fortunately in a different part of the house and suffered from no injuries.

FCA Recalls Gear Shifter Used in Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep Vehicles
On April 27th, 2016, the FCA issued a recall that affected around 1.1 million vehicles sold by Fiat Chrysler under the Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep brands. The recall targeted certain models that used what is known as a “Monostable shifter.” This shifter, developed by a German company called ZF, was chosen by Fiat Chrysler for models in their extensive lineup of cars even though it contained what is widely considered to be a non-intuitive form of shifting. Specifically, the shifter, which is often described as being “mushroom shaped,” always returns to the center position after being used, which confuses many people who are used to a shifter remaining in a certain place to indicate the specific mode (park, reverse, neutral, or drive).
