Orlando Community Mourns Death of Girl Struck by Car
A little over a week ago, on Sunday, March 18th, police with the Orange County Police Department responded with other emergency rescue teams from Orlando and Orange County to reports of a accident involving a pedestrian and a car along Silver Star Road. The official report from the police indicates that at close to 5:45 in the evening, a 19-year-old individual driving a Mercury Cougar was traveling down Silver Star Road, nearing the place where this road intersects with Dardanelle Drive, when an 8-year-old child ran into the street directly in front of them.
Minor Injuries in Orange County Head-On Collision
Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol in Orange County are currently conducting an investigation into a wrong-way crash that took place early in the morning of Friday, March 30th, and resulted in the critical injury of at least one person.

New developments from the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration have surfaced regarding a fatal scaffolding collapse accident in Miami Gardens which tragically claimed the lives of three men last September, after the gin pole rigging device that was attached to a 1000 ft. television tower failed, causing them to fall to their death below.
Pedestrian Struck by Two Cars in Orange County, Dies
A pedestrian attempting to cross Colonial Drive in Orange County died after being struck by two cars. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the individual was walking along Colonial Drive at around 9:00 in the evening when they decided to leave the sidewalk or shoulder and travel on foot across the asphalt.
Woman Pushing Shopping Cart Across Orlando Street Struck and Killed by Car
Police with the Florida Highway Patrol working in Orange County released a report on an incident that took place this on Monday, March 26th, that resulted in the death of a 60-year-old woman. The report failed to specify if any charges are being issued as a result of the incident, and it seems possible that the FHP are still in the process of conducting an investigation. If so, then it is possible that charges will be filed at some future date, pending the investigations results.
Fire at Winter Park Home Kills Man and Six Dogs
Residents of Winter Park were shocked and saddened by the sudden death of a 50-year-old man as well as six dogs after a fire consumed their house during the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 27th. The report from the Orange County Fire and Rescue indicated that the fire began at a home located at 2269 Kentucky Avenue at was first reported at 1:00 in the morning when neighbors were woken by the woman who lived in the home pounding on their door and requesting help.
Stolen Car Crashes into Pole in Orange County
After stealing a car in Orange County, Florida, the driver lost control and crashed into a pole. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the fatal crash happened early Thursday morning. The driver of the stolen 2010 Kia had exited the Florida Turnpike and started traveling northbound on Orange Blossom Trail near Landstreet Road. For unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle, left the road and crashed into a nearby pole. Presumably driving at a high rate of speed, the impact split the vehicle into two pieces.
Fire at Kissimmee Apartment Destroys Building
A massive fire ripped through an apartment building in Osceola County last Wednesday, causing thousands of dollars worth of pottery damage and rendering over one dozen people temporarily homeless. The official report states that the fire, which was first reported around 11:30 in the morning, happened in an apartment building located at 1459 Dorado Drive in Kissimmee. The apartment building housed eight units, all of which were gutted by the flames.
Multiple Injured after Crash in Orange County
Four people were taken to Orange County hospitals on Saturday after a collision between multiple cars close to the intersection of Gatlin and Kennedy Avenue. Initial reports on the crash are not full of relevant details, indicating that the situation is still very much under investigation and that authorities have yet to fully reconstruct the events that led to the incident.
Single Car Crash in Orange County, Driver Hospitalized
A single-car crash along State Road 408 this past Saturday afternoon (March 17th) led to the hospitalization of at least one individual. According to the Orange County Fire Rescue, the crash happened on State Road 408, close to mile marker 5, although not, apparently, near to any intersection. A car, not described in any manner, was driving down the road at some point in the afternoon (no specific time was given in the first report) when the driver either lost control of the vehicle or encountered something within the road itself that they were attempting to avoid. Regardless of the reason, they swerved off of the road itself, through the shoulder, and then drove into the roads’ guardrail.
