Ocoee Hit-and-Run Driver Discovered
Today, the police department in Ocoee, Florida, has reason to celebrate. After an intense, although brief, search, they were able to identify and apprehend the culprit in a hit-and-run case that left one person dead and no concrete leads: no witnesses, no description of the vehicle, no description of the driver. According to the initial statement released by the Ocoee police, the accident occurred at around 1:00am on Sunday morning, close to where Silver Star Road and Taylor Street intersect. Anonymous sources alerted the police to the fact that there was a person lying in the road and that it looked as though he had been injured by a car.
Woman Killed, Police Officer in Critical Condition after Lake Wales Hit-and-Run
This past Saturday, at around 12:35am, the 25-year-old Deputy Adam Pennell pulled his cruiser over to the side of State Road 60 in Lake Wales to help the 33-year-old Jessica Enchautegui-Otero who was standing in the grassy median, looking for help. There was no car nearby. According to the last call Pennell made in to the station, the woman was near to Tiger Lake Road and Sam Keen Road. After pulling the cruiser over and switching on the emergency lights, Pennell exited the car and went to the woman. When he reached her, Enchautegui-Otero told Pennell that she had crashed into a tree and then walked to the road for assistance. Pennell saw the car and made note of Enchautegui-Otero’s injuries.
Man Injured on October 11 Florida Hit-and-Run Dies
A man seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident involving a moped and a stolen Honda Accord died today. Doctors did everything they could for Clarence “Duffy” Hadler, a 64-year-old Orlando resident, but ultimately the toll from breaking both arms and legs as well as suffering from swelling of the brain proved to be too much. The crash, which happened on October 11th, occurred near to where Colonial Drive and Forsythe Road intersect. Hadler was driving his moped down Colonial Drive at 4:40am when the Honda Accord came up behind him and threw Hadler from his small vehcile. The driver of the Accord then sped away, leaving the badly injured Hadler behind.
Hit-and-Run Leaves Orlando Moped Driver in Critical Condition
A crash on Tuesday morning on Colonial Drive and Forsythe Road has left one individual critically injured and another individual fleeing the scene to parts unknown. As is standard, the Florida Highway Patrol filed a report to discuss the issue and fill the public in on the information that has so far been gathered regarding the case. According to this report, an unnamed 64-year-old man from Orlando was driving his moped along Forsyth Road when another car, which has yet to be discovered or identified, collided with the rear of the moped.
Cocoa Hit-and-Run Leaves Homeless Man Critically Injured
On Tuesday, a surprising series of events unfolded along U.S. 1 and State Road 520 that began with a hit-and-run and ended at a local strip club. According to the report filed by the Cocoa police department, a man wielding a sign declaring himself to be homeless and asking for help was seen walking around State Road 520 shortly before the incident. Around 2:00 in the afternoon, this same man was hit by a gold-colored Ford Explorer SUV as he was attempting to cross the road.
19-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Sanford Hit-and-Run
The town of Sanford was startled by a tragedy on Wednesday night when a 19-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a car while she was trying to cross the street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian, a woman named Angel Raye Johnson, was walking along Sanford Avenue, close to where it intersects with Airport Boulevard, when she decided to cross the road. At this time, a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta was coming down Sanford Avenue as well. The driver of the Jetta, a 36-year-old by the name of Julio Colon, was seemingly unaware of the Johnson’s presence on the road, even though she was inside of the crosswalk.
Runaway Car Causes Four Children to be Hospitalized in Orlando
The inclement weather hitting Florida over the past week has been blamed by the driver of a black Camaro for causing him to lose control of the car and hit four children along Orlando’s Bumby Avenue. The children, none of whom have been named, run from age 5 to 11-years-old.
Hit-and-Run in Daytona Beach Leaves Motorcyclist Dead
In Daytona Beach this past Friday night an altercation erupted between a group of motorcyclists and a BMW that resulted in a collision between one of the motorcycles and the vehicle. The Daytona Beach police department has issued a statement that describes the evening as far as they can reconstruct it.
After Orlando Hit and Run, Car Crashes into Building
Following a hit and run incident, the involved vehicle ended up crashing into Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
Osceola County Hit-and-Run Leaves One Dead
The Florida Highway Patrol has released a statement regarding the hit-and-run accident that occurred along Marigold Avenue and San Remo Road around 9:30pm in Kissimmee on Friday. The statement describes how a pedestrian, who has been identified as the 34-year-old Alexis Perez, from Kissimmee, was crossing the street when he crossed into the path of a Volvo driven by the 31-year-old Jeannie Marie Petrie, also from Kissimmee. Petrie was driving north on Marigold Avenue when Perez appeared before her. Petrie hit Perez with the Volvo and then proceeded to run her over. When emergency vehicles arrived they pronounced Perez dead at the scene.
