Man Fatally Injured in Orlando DUI Hit-And-Run Accident
In the early hours of Monday, February 22nd, 2016, a multi-vehicle crash turned hit-and-run led to a fatal result for an Orlando man. The victim, 42-year-old Brett Adams, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.
The accident occurred around 3:10 a.m. on Orange Blossom Trail in Orange County, near Americana Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident was eventually identified as 30-year-old Valentin Oswaldo Sis Sis, also from Orlando. Sis Sis was driving a 2004 Acura when he failed to stop at a red light and smashed into the back end of Adams’ 2001 Mercedes. Due to the impact, the Mercedes was pushed into a Ford SUV, causing yet another vehicle — a Ford pickup truck — to be hit. According to reports, the drivers of the Ford SUV and pickup truck were not injured in the crash. According to Antonio Beltre, a witness at the scene of the crash, Sis Sis’ Acura was estimated as traveling at up to 60 or 70 mph.
Despite the severity of the crash and the amount of damage and debris involved, Sis Sis initially managed to flee the scene. He was later found and identified by police. According to authorities, Sis Sis has lived in Orlando for seven years, but has never obtained a State of Florida driver’s license. As a result of this accident, he faces charges including DUI manslaughter, leaving the scene of a crash involving death and driving without a license.
